Mal: "Well, ain't that a joyful sight."
Wash: "Gotta love a sunset."
Zoë: "Startin' to get familiar, too. Like a second home."
Mal: "(firmly) Persephone is not home. Too many people we need to avoid. Resupply, look for work, move along. We sniff the air, we don't kiss the dirt."
Zoë: "Wasn't planning on the dirt-kissing, Sir."
― "Shindig"

Persephone is quite a diverse planet, with its various environments and varying levels of economic status among its inhabitants. The largest spaceport is the Eavesdown Docks, which is laid out in such a confusing manner that often times pilots get lost trying to find their way around. These docks are home to many crime lords, always looking for ways to make easy money. Close by the Docks is a famous racetrack which helps to bring in a high revenue to the planet.
