Yinyang lives up to its namesake - half of the world is always in the sun, the other half always in the dark. It's a mining planet, and the most notable company established here is the Corone Mining Consortium. They are the ones who are able to support the large sums of money it takes to own a mining operation here. Other smaller companies try to get at the rich deposits but they seldom make enough money to last.

The only real non-Consortium habitation on Yinyang is LeVegan, which is just on the planet's dark side. While still cold, it's not as bitter as further in, and since it is within a canyon the winds aren't that harsh. LeVegan is a gigantic depot for tourism and hedonism, where anything and everything is legal. The governing body of LeVegan is the Elect. They only run non-profit organizations and are representatives of the wealthiest capitalists on the world. The only job of the Elect is to make sure the money never stops flowing and to enforce the biggest rule in business: Never break a contract.
