Guan-Yin II/Crew

The following NPCs have been established as part of the Guan-Yin II's crew:

Active NPCs

Pritha Devi-Carlton

Originally a hairdresser on Persephone, Pritha found that that job didn't satisfy her enough. She turned back to school to become a nurse and soon after graduating she joined the Guan-Yin II. She has become a valued member of the crew, always helping out with a warm, friendly and optimistic attitude. She loves children, and has gotten certified as a pediatric nurse. She has therefore become the go-to person on board when a babysitter is needed. After several years of dating, she has married Zeke Carlton (see below). The couple is unable to have children of their own, but this only seems to drive Pritha's desire to help look after everyone else's.

Alexander Acosta, Sr.

Alexander grew up on Bernadette and dreamt of becoming a dentist, but he flunked out of dental school and turned to nursing instead. He married a court clerk and they had two children. Their daughter was still a toddler and their son had just been born when the war broke out. Alexander Sr. was determined to serve in some way, and signed on with the Alliance medical ship Housatonic, where he served for three and a half years. Returning somewhat disillusioned and distanced from his family, they struggled on with their lives as best they could. His marriage recently fell apart, and he was fired from his job at Val-de-Grâce Hospital for showing up drunk one time too many. He has come to the Guan-Yin, seeking a new start. He still cares about helping people, but has a lot of issues to work through.

Ezekiel "Zeke" Carlton

Zeke is one of the ship's engineers and security men, also quite handy in the kitchen. He can be reserved at times, but opens up when among friends and knows plenty of great jokes. He is even known to sing on occasion. He is married to Pritha.

Aurora Lassiter

Aurora is Blake Lassiter's surprise daughter, a skinny, bright girl who loves asking questions. She is officially growing up way too fast.

Scrubs

Scrubs is a calico cat with tabby and white markings, huge yellow eyes with green stars in them, and a docile personality. As the story goes, he was found in a laundry basket of scrubs, and was thus named and gifted to the hospital ship as a suitable home. He is ostensibly on rodent patrol, but like all good cats, spends more of his time napping.

Past NPCs

Alex Becker

Alex Becker served out his medical internship and residency aboard the Guan-Yin, following training on his home world of Londinium. He started out rather fresh and green, eager to learn a lot of things, capable of many basic procedures but sometimes a bit clumsy with theoretical knowledge. He has become a capable and caring doctor, and has moved on to serve as a trauma physician at Persephone General.

Daisy Hyatt

Daisy Hyatt (played by McManus) is a ditzy blonde nurse who drove her superiors to despair during much of her time aboard the Guan-Yin. She got into frequent trouble, and made it clear that she would much rather work for famous beauty surgeon Dr. Clooney on Londinium than aboard the ship. She did wisen up a little during her time with the crew, but did ultimately move on to seek work elsewhere. The character was mostly meant for comic relief, and to offer medical support when there weren't enough PCs online.

Jeffrey Spencer

Jeffrey started out as one of the ship's engineers and security men, later moving into the piloting department to keep the ship moving through the Black. He is outgoing and always willing to lend a hand. He can also get very focused on his work, ensuring that whatever he sets his mind to is done properly. After many years aboard, he left the ship to settle down and start a family.

Kyle and Sadie

Kyle and Sadie are teenage siblings who were living on their own in the Eavesdown Slums. McManus and Mariette brought them aboard to look after them, and they helped out around the ship and learned some things during their stay.
