Vitsi Rarti Satarma or Clan of the Night Star - Salisbury

It is said that the Romany were not always pacifists. That once, they were part of a high order of warriors coming from Northwest India. Descended from the Dorm and other Indo-European groups, they were a proud and powerful people, a noble caste and well respected for their skills. In the late 8th century, when much of Earth-That-Was had fallen into darkness and war, the Roma did not go unscathed. Mahmud of Ghazni was hungry for land and resources having captured mush of central Asia and sought more in the rich lands of the Roma. He invaded and won. Those who survived fled. Most migrated to the west wishing to avoid further slaughter. They cut themselves off from the world turning their backs on heritage to become isolationists and pacifists, resorting to thievery and crime as a way of life. However, the most elite of their Caste did not agree. The Vitsi Rarti Satarma, not wanting to give up their warrior ways, instead migrated to the east and were forgotten of only to be told in Paramitsha (Fairy Tales) to young boys at bed time. The hero's of dreams and fiction. The clan with red eyes who worshiped the night and slayed bad children if they misbehaved. Demons and Ghosts who were indestructible.

The Vitsi Rarti Satarma were consumed with revenge against the King who had ransacked their lands. They took in all they could as they moved east picking up different ways to battle, while still retaining their heritage. Their predominately Hindu religious beliefs mixed with Christianity, Taoism, Shintoism, and Buddhism, as they traveled throughout Asia and the Far East making them considerably different from those who moved to the west. They did not out breed except for selling their daughters for dowry and only then to those who passed their tests as warriors and would join the clan and provide for it. Men were allowed to do as they wished, the patriarchy remaining intact. Over the centuries that lust for revenge became quiet and forgotten. The clan became a secluded sect of non-interventionists much like the Shaolin Monks of China, only looking out for their interests and to keep their Clan and Traditions alive in an ever changing world.

During the Exodus from Earth That Was, it was easy for the Vitsi Rarti Satarma to acquire their own ship. They were used to traveling, making generations on a space fairing Vardos homely enough. They settled on Salisbury, wishing to choose a less populated planet close to Earth-That-Was to set up their secret temple, camp, and training grounds... On the Rim and Away from the Alliance. They did not participate in the Unification War, feeling they were beyond such things. A quiet life...

Until now... Genocide and Slaughter from the Reavers now effect them. They had watch their Western brothers and sisters silently develop on Paquin, Deadwood, and Beylix. Scoffed at their weakness and lack of unity. But now... they might be the only ones who can truly reunite their clans. If only they weren't so stubborn...

The Vitsi Rarti Satarma are notable, because they all have red eyes, a clan trait.
