Business Practices of the Organization

The Shadowdancer Organization conducts business to sustain itself and earn a profit. These operations are tailored to the needs or preferences of the customer:

Cargo and Passenger Service
Shadowdancer can haul very large loads of cargo (600T) and do it in safety, the ship's speed and top of the line sensors allowing the pilot to avoid trouble easily. Four plush guest cabins, one of them especially historical, as well as a one of a kind galley, offers guests a comfortable, safe, and swift method of travel.
Special Cargo
Special arrangements always increase the cost, as does an added danger factor. This might be the right crew if one wants discretion in delivery and no undue questions asked.
Special Practices
Note: All guns require Proof of Identity to purchase.
Specific weapon permit levels are listed at Winchester Repeating Arms along with available merchandise.

Ship's History

The Shadowdancer’s previous history is clouded in mystery. She is one of the Shadow-class frigates built during the War by the Independents. Disarmed, then disavowed as a war ship and passed off as a cargo vessel was the common fate of this class of ship.
Found in a salvage yard, some main systems missing and others damaged, she was purchased by Elric Ratius in a deal that included the swap of his harpoon, the Mercury. Having served aboard a Shark in the past he was aware that some areas on the upper deck seemed to be missing in this ship. Knowing what to look for and where was half the battle and the missing sections were found to have been sealed off by some previous owner.
What was found seems to have been of some significant historical value. The ship may have at one time been the home of the notorious and infamous pirate, Admiral Frost of the so called Pirate Commonwealth. What bloody battles and deeds she may have witnessed as he cut and plundered his way across the ‘verse is not known today. What can be seen are what were evidently his personal quarters, and those of his favorites or guests and a galley unsurpassed for shipboard luxury.
The ‘Adm. Frost Suite’ has been restored, complete with the original furnishings, even the comforter under which he lay, ravaging women and dreaming dreams of bloody conquest. These quarters may now be booked for passage, but at a substantially higher rate to a select clientele who would appreciate and not damage the history of the room. Of the four other guest quarters, only the oak paneling could be saved and restored in three and they have been fitted out as comfortable passenger quarters.
The galley has been completely restored and contains what may be actual antiques of Earth-that-was. Designed for a feel of ancient oceans, what feasts celebrating pirate victories amongst Admiral Frost and his captains and cohorts were held here can only be imagined today.

The Alliance Military has reported this ship as being destroyed in an engagement against the Klaighmar.

Description

The Shadow-class escort frigate was created towards the very end of the war. It saw only a small amount of action as by the time it came fully into the main order of battle for the Independents, the War was only a year away from its finale. This vessel is smaller than a Saber, and at one time boasted a total of six medium cannons, and two missile racks, divided evenly on her fins. She was made for speed, maneuverability, and a swift Knockout punch. As the class name implies she was to be a reminder for all of the now dead planet of Shadow. After the war, the few ships of this make that had survived where swiftly re-classified as Shark Corvettes. As no one wanted to have their ship confiscated by the Alliance, and both sides still to this day disavow that a Shadow-class warship ever existed.
She stands at an Impressive fifty five feet high, 300 feet long, and 190 feet wide. She is sleek and stealthy having one of the best sensor suites ever made, and her low profile makes her rather hard to pick up on sensors until, if she still had weapons, it would be too late. The ships shape gives it its affectionate nick name of Shark, for a extinct sea creature it resembles.
She is painted a dark royal blue, so dark as to be almost black in some light, with scatterings of white and pale yellows that appear like stars over her hull. The emblem of the dancer in the stars is painted below the nose of the hull as is the name Shadowdancer.
