The Scrabble command can be shortened to Scr for easier use.

Managing Games (Starting, Stopping, Saving, Etc.)

Listgames

This switch lists all the games that have been saved.

New

Start a game with Scrabble/new <players> and fill in the names of up to 3 other players. (Make sure nobody else is playing)
The board is cleared and all tiles go back in the bag. All scores are wiped out.

End

When a player uses this switch the game ends. The final score of each player is listed, player with the highest score first. The first number is the score before ending the game. The second number is the score after subtracting the value of the tiles. The scores in the right column are, of course, most significant. But in case of a draw, the scores in the left column decide who wins.

Usage: Scrabble/end game

Save

To save the current game, type: Scrabble/save

Load

To load a game, type: Scrabble/load <players>

Restore

When a new game is started with the NEW switch, the old game is saved. With Scrabble/restore you can restore the game to its former state.

Removegame

To remove a saved game from the list, type: Scrabble/removegame <players>

Managing Players (Joining, Leaving, Etc.)

Join

To join a game in progress, type: Scrabble/join

Takeover

To take the place of one of the players type: Scrabble/takeover <player>

Quit

To quit type Scrabble/quit. If you are the last person in the game, the game ends and you will be shown your final score.

Boot

To boot a player from the game type Scrabble/boot <player>. If you boot the last person in the game (yourself), the game ends and you will be shown your final score.

Playing the Game

View

To see the board you can simply look at it (look Scrabble Game) or use:

Scrabble/view

If you are an observer, you can look at the tiles of the players with:

Scrabble/view <player>

If you are a player, you can turn watching on and off with:

Scrabble/view [on|off]

Same as: Scr/V

Here is a sample view of a starting board:

The asterisk indicates whose turn it is. The seven letters on the lower right are the pieces you have available to play, and the numbers across the bottom indicate how many points each letter is worth. @ indicates a blank tile.

Order

With this switch you can rearrange your tiles.
For example:

You have tiles X C B E P O G and use this command:
Scrabble/order Beep
Now your tiles are arranged like this: B E P X C O G

Do

Use this switch to put a word on the board.
For example:

Scrabble/do HOI G8A plays HOI starting at G8 and going across
Scrabble/do HOI H6D plays HOI starting at H6 and going down

Exchange

Use this switch to exchange tiles.
For example:

Scrabble/exchange XFE exchanges three tiles (X, F and E) for three others.

Pass

Use this switch to skip a turn. If nobody can make a word, you may end the game with the /End switch.

Blank

If one of the tiles on the board is blank you can change the letter it represents by using this switch. The letter will be yellow.
For example:

Scrabble/blank H5F changes the blank tile on position H5 to the letter F

Undo

This switch returns the game to the state it was in before the last tiles were played, except it does not give back the player's turn.

Setup

This tells you how to setup your own scrabble game.

@create Scrabble
@parent Scrabble=#17984
@set Scrabble=!No_Command
Scrabble/new

Now your game should be ready for use.
As an extra feature, you can change the signs for 2x word, 3x word, etc. To do this, set the following attributes. The defaults are:

@WX Scrabble=.
@WC Scrabble=-
@WB Scrabble==
@WM Scrabble=+
@WR Scrabble=#

Channel

The Scrabble-channel system allows you to play more than one game in the same location. You must own the scrabble board to use this switch.

To set the channel identifier: Scrabble/channel <ChannelID>
To use the board: Scr<ChannelID>/<switch>

Score

Use this switch to add to or subtract from your score. This switch is no longer needed, because the game counts the score automatically. But you never know if there is still a bug in the code. :)
