New Crew & A Lead
The ramp and hatch door to the cargo bay begins to open. Voices outside faintly heard as they approach. Fao's voice can be heard as the ramp reaches the tarmac and he starts up, "Yes, I stole the fob. I knew it would come in handy with their mild security measure. I plan to return it to her. Or you can take it to give it back. She's assigned to keep an eye on me, but with her wounds of late, she just can't quite keep up. Don't say I'm taking advantage of that, but ... okay, so I'm taking advantage of that, but..." He stars up the ramp to the cargo bay with Zank and Sanoh and a new face Carlisle. Fao glances back, "I've got your hundred if you still want it doc." <English>
Carlisle says in English, "Well....you can keep the money if you keep buttering me with with kind words and all. I hear those keep the stomach fuller then money any day."
Inside the ship there is a large man pushing one of those large janitorial brooms around the bay. He stops a moment and looks to the ramp as the others start up it. Kyoshiro Mibu one red eye and an eyepatch over the other. His face is a painting of scars and facial hair. Hair long, back in a tail, with some strands from the bangs loose and pushed back behind his ears. He raises a single brow as Carlisle boards, not recognizing the man. <English>
Zank just shakes his head and rubs his sholder in the sling. "ya can explain to her how much she can't keep up I'm not getting in between that. Sanoh how ya know what's his name here?" he says looks at Kyo with a nod. <English>
McGuire's flawless memory kicks in, as does his mouth. "Simms. Doctor Simms is his name. He's got a name tag." <English>
Carlisle looking at Zank when he answers and nodding at McGuire's response. "Sanoh's husband was a very generous friend of mine a while ago. Looking to Sanoh, and that baby of yours, how are things progressing?" <English>
"Herm... Doctor..." Kyoshiro says with a rough and deep voice, raspy in a way. He returns to pushing the broom across the deck, "Better hurry along upstairs... I'm mopping then polishing the floor next..." He says. <English>
Standing at the railing at the top of the stairs from the cargo bay would happen to be Willow. She's back in her typical leathers, though this time it's a high necked sort of affair, with long sleeves, in navy blue. The pants are black leather, snug but supple, and she leans forward on the railing to lean there, looking down over the cargo bay. "My wounds will not be preventing me from doing my job, Faoite. I can keep up whether injured or not," Willow says, her brow knitting as she entwines her fingers together. The paired katanas are also back in place, worn at her back. She's a slender and athletic woman, with red hair in small ringlets that reach past her shoulders, and green eyes. Shifting her weight slightly, she straightens before stepping over to the stairs before descending. Her green gaze settled on Fao. "I would prefer you not taking advantage certain situations. I would also prefer not to have to make a point as to why taking advantage is a bad idea to continue doing," Willow adds, giving a nod to him. <English>
A tiny girl with a bowl cut and a colorful handmade dress has obviously been following Kyoshiro around, asking him endless questions in Chinese. As soon as the bay unfolds and the crew walk in, she runs to Sanoh with a bright smile and arms outstretched. "You're in a good mood," Sanoh comments with a smile, bending down to give Nim a kiss on the head. She looks up at Kyoshiro and grins even more widely. "Mibu-san! How wonderful to see you again." Meanwhile, Nim looks up at Carlisle with instant recognition. "You tangguo ma? (Got candy?)" she asks, smiling and holding out a hand. "Oh, not this again," Sanoh chides her daughter. "Things are going fine, thank you, Carlisle. We're eight and a half mo ths in, now." She glances between Willow and McGuire briefly, biting her lip. <English>
Zank walks across the bay and towards the stairs grunting as the stim starts to wear off. "commen area..." he says simply and walks up the stairs "punch him not me please" he says to Willow as he passes. <English>
McGuire steps up the spiral staircase to the catwalk that leads to the common area. As he approaches Willow, he says aloud for all to hear, "Thomas Mercer is listed as one of the dead from the lab accedent, however his body is not listed in the morgue. No signs of him on any of their records." To Willow, he tosses her fob to her, "Thanks for the use, couldn't of done it without you." He steps past her on his way to the commons. <English>
"I told Zank that the other day... what about his cousin, the one who actually stole the stuff?" Kyoshiro offers, "Should be trying to find him." Kyoshiro tosses the broom over towards the wall, then moves to grab the mopping bucket and starts to pour some cleaning chemicals into it. He's very much keeping himself distracted at the moment. There are other things on his mind beside this case and what ever lead Zank thought he had really wasn't panning out in his favor. So instead of drinking, he was cleaning... then working out... then cleaning. He had Nim for company and he would answer her questions with a man who had the patients of several times a father. <English>
Carlisle seeing Nim again he smiles and pulls 2 small mints from his shirt pocket eating one and giving her the other. "Sir, you should really consider resting. that shoulder won't get better if you don't give it a chance....um...but....What are you guys going to do with me?" <English>
Willow turns her attention over to Kyoshiro, watching him for a moment. "I have something that I wish to show you, which I only just received a few minutes ago," she offers, one of her eyebrows quirking upwards. Then she gives a nod to him before her attention turns to follow Zank, which causes her to frown slightly. "I wasn't planning on punching anyone. Yet," she adds, wrinkling her nose slightly. As the fob is tossed in her direction, she catches it and then slides it into one of her pants pockets before exhaling a soft sigh. Her attention turns to the stranger, watching him for a long moment. "Wounds seldom heal without the opportunity to do so but stubborn people are stubborn," she says, lifting one of her shoulders in a faint shrug. <English>
Zank comes back out of the commen area with a mug of something. He sips it and leans against the railing watching and listening. <English>
McGuire says, "I got his address Mibu. Perhaps we'll find an address book with his cousin's name in it. Or the cousin sleeping over. At least I got the address." He stops at the commons hatch and leans over the rail to Kyo, "Bay looks shiny Mibu. Shiny." He's very curious to know what Willow has to show Kyo, but doesn't pry as he looks at Zank's cup and moves himself into the commons. <English>
Nim squeals with glee to receive the candy, but she has trouble fumbling with the wrapper.Sanoh give he candy to Sanoh, who unwraps it and starts to put it in her own mouth. Nim shrieks in protest, "MA!" and Sanoh laughs, popping the mint in her daughter's mouth instead. "Yiside, (Meanie,)" Nim says clumsily around her candy, but hugs her mother's leg all the same. Sanoh watches Carlisle carefully, curiously. <English>
The old War Horse looks up towards willow as he's wringing out the mop. "Then show me..." He then dunks the mop back into the watter. He seems to be under the impression it won't be anything significant nor a lead he can follow up on. <English>
Carlisle looks around helplessly for direction, "So I can't really go back there once they notice I'm gone and I cannot afford to pay for passage to somewhere else so what is to be done with me?" <English>
Sanoh looks to the others with a grimace. <English>
The redheaded woman takes out a holographic disk about the size of a hockey puck. She pushes a button on it, and then tosses it so that it lands on a cargo crate nearby. It takes only a moment for it to start playing. A planet map rises up from it -- not of any Core or Border world, but instead of a Rim world. Ezra. Little dashes start to appear in the manner of a treasure map -- x number of paces in this direction, y number in another direction, and so on and so forth, the planet map turning as it does so. And then, there's an X that comes up on the map. "There wasn't a message with the map. There wasn't any data of who sent it or where it came from. There was just the map," she says. Then her attention turns to Carlisle, and she arches an eyebrow. "You find a way to make yourself useful and you earn a place with a crew. Maybe even this crew. But how you choose to go about that? That's up to you," she says, giving a nod to him. Shifting her weight slightly from her leg that was shot not all that many days ago, she crosses her arms in front of her. <English>
McGuire comes back into view of the commons hatch, just off the catwalk. He steps beside Zank along the rail to get a better view. The map catches his eye as he overhears Carlisle's request. He says, "You are free to go Doc. It is apparent you know our stow away, and if you want to stay, you are welcome. As you can see, this ship could really use a doctor. We do seem to find ourselves in situations where mending would come in handy." His study of the map holo graph gives him directions and locations. He stores it away in his mind to bring up later when needed. "That where we're going next? Ezra?" He looks to Zank, "I can cortex that mad woman Wendy about our find. Save us the threat of being poisoned if we're not here. Up to you Cap'n." He takes a sip from his mug of coffee. Looking over at Kyo to wonder what might be next. <English>
Kyoshiro watches the holographic for a moment and the walks over closer to it. He studies it for a long moment and then grabs the disk and shuts it off, pocketing it. Without another word, he turns and heads towards the ramp, walking past anyone who happens to be between him and the exit. There are no words that come from him, he simply drops what he's doing and leaves. The bucket remains, checmical water and all with the mop soaking inside. For anyone who glances a look onto his face, it's cold and distant. A face of stone and brick, unshakable in adversity. "Don't bother... they're my dead bodies..." Is all Kyo says in respone to Fao before leaving. <English>
Carlisle is left speechless by the events transpiring around him. Instead he picks up the discarded mop and "makes himself useful." <English>
Zank speaks up finally "Kyo...we can do this together... as a crew and bring her home" he says from the railing "Doc...like Willow an Fao said your welcome to stay especially if you can shed some light on her husbands disappearance. Also she's due soon an I don't think we know how to deliver a baby to Well..." he says sipping the mug looking to Kyo <English>
Sanoh glances away Carlisle and is left staring after Kyoshiro with a blank-eyed frown, both hands resting gently on her round belly. Nim looks up at her mom and over to Carlisle again. She decides to follow Carlisle, dipping her fingers in the water bucket helpfully. <English>
McGuire lowers his head, "Gusa." comes out with a sigh. He looks up and doesn't know what to do about Kyo, "Mibu? We'll set course for there right now. We'll be faster than the shuttles ever where, and besides, all your high powered weapons are already here." He sighs again, and hopes Zank's words sink in. <English>
"Finish your investigation here. Find her husband. I've an army, remember?" Kyoshiro says finally leaving. <English>
