Esther is standing near the dojo, laughing with a woman. It seems the two are sharing a story of sorts. It is mid-day, a cool early spring morning. Flowers are beginning to bloom and the grass has turned a pretty spring green.
Danee comes walking along the path. Her steps are deliberate as she would rather not get stickers. Not that there are any but it is always a possibility. She is in her own plane of mind as she approaches the buildings.
Conoger is indeed walking down the path of the monastery, he ain't wearing no armor, no helm just his axe and his duster. Moving along, feeling better than he has done before. So as he feels better, he is actually whistleling, or at least trying to whistle as best he can.
Chovian is moving through the monastery grounds with a bit of a frown on his face. He holds a pda up and taps upon it with his right, his gaze drifting between the screen and his surroundings, using his peripherals to do most of the walking. His eyes catch on familiar figures and he lifts his pda. "Hey, something is wrong with our cortex communication." This while the domed, six-legged android named Fred follows along behind his creator, scurrying in slow zigzags as he moves along.
Esther turns from the other woman as other approach. The woman decides to go on, scooping up one of the children nearby and heads off towards the lower circle. Esther turns towards those approaching and offers a smile. "Hi guys." Chovian's words are not lost to her, she glances to him and blinks. "Huh.. I will have to get the engineers to look at it then."
Danee stops as she hears voices and turns to look around. She smiles at Fred and moves towards him and Chovian. She nods to Esther. "Good morning. The tea was most excellent. "
Conoger really has not used his communication devices at all for several days, so now he is moving along and at seeing others he nods towards them. " Hello and how is everyone today." he seems to be in a better mood or a better mood.
Chovian shakes his head. "Is not issue with systems or components, something is jamming all incoming signals. I performed scans using draba's computer, could not pin down any signatures." A pause. "Natural anomalies like sun flares can do things with communications, jammers usually have a.. tell, that lets you know it is artificial." Offered in explanation. "Is very strange, nothing says signals aren't going out, but nothing at all comes in. Point to point is fine, short-range, comms..."
Esther steps forward towards Chovian and she looks over his shoulder to his PDA. Not like she would know anything by looking at it. "You mean like all the communications are cut?" She furrows her brows. "Not my area expertise."
Helena is coming from the Dining Hall with her toddler in arms, "Well I think we need to get you cleaned up." Indeed Bay seems to be wearing much of the food on her face and clothes. The child giggles and reaches up and pats Helena's face with her spaghetti sauce fingers. She looks up to see the crowd gathering, her steps taking her toward Conoger. "Everything alright?" She asks with a curiosity as she looks towards Esther and the others.
Conoger is really not sure what everyone is looking at but he seems alright for the moment. At seeing Helena come up he smiles and walks on over to meet them and then chuckles at Bay's look at the moment. " Do they ever learn how to eat?" obviously they do but he ain't to sure when. As the others look at the pda's he does wonder. " Something wrong?"
Danee approaches Fred and leans over to tap one of his knees with a gentle finger tip. She "Hello, How have you been? Good I hope?" she waits for a moment to allow Fred to answer then she stands up straight. "Hello Cousin, Our transmissions are going out but not coming? That is odd." She turns to smile at Helena and Conoger and her smile brightens. "Isn't it a lovely day?" She falters. At first it might seem as like she is trying to be polite but for some odd reason she can't get the nice words out. She turns away abruptly and looks at Chovian. "Something bad is about to happen or has happened. I" she tries to shake the feeling away from her lifting her hand up to tug on her longhair. "I'm sorry." She now appears as if looking for an escape route. Obviously agitated. Obviously crazy Danee has shown up.
The dome-shaped robotic creature tilts it's hull upward a bit as Danee approaches turning so one of it's armored lens 'eyes' is pointed at her. That hidden voice box crackles a bit before that robotic childlike voice emits. "Hi." In the same exact tone he always says that particular greeting. One of the front foots lifts up to face the bottom toward Danee and it wiggles a bit as if waving.
Chovian nods a bit and frowns. "We should probably.. be alert, maybe there is an attack somewhere, or something, maybe alert the Churara and move children into a basement, does this place have somewhere safe for them to be if it is some-." He hesitates looking to Danee and his brow knits. "Yes, see, something /is/ wrong."
Just as the warning escapes Danee's lips, there is a celestial event that begins. There is a booming sound that echoes off the mountains, followed shortly with another similar sound. It almost sounds as some very powerful distant thunder as the sound echoes around them. When the group looks up, in the distance is a harrowing sight. "Holy Mary above.." Esther whispers out as she seems shocked at what she sees. Streaks of light are seen in the sky out in the distance away from the monastery. From their view, there is also fire in random places, plumes rising into the sky. The streaks of light are obvious that some sort of debris is falling from the heavens. Most of the streaks of light sputter out in the sky, however, some make it all the way to the planet's surface. Another streak slams into the wooded forest, the area exploding into fire and flames.
Helena shifts Bay to her other hip and laughs at his comment, "Most do I am told. They just must explore food with their hands first." Yep, even Helena is now wearing a bit of sauce on her face by now. Bay leans back in Helena's arms and shows her hands to Conoger, "Ahar Look!" She squeals out rather proudly of her food coloured hands. Helena is distracted by the tone of the words from Danee, her smile fading further at Chovian's words. She opens her mouth to respond when she looks up at the sound of the boom. Her first instinct to draw Bay closer to her , wrapping an arm over her head. Otherwise she stands transfixed by the scene in that moment.
Conoger smiles at Helena's words and manages to smile even more as Bay manages to make him feel that much better. As Danee mentions something is wrong, he frowns and instinctively steps closer to Helena and looks around, his eyes looking about. As Chovian manages to mention something may be wrong he is agreeing with him and he puts a hand on Helena's back. Then he hears that boom, then another, he looks around and he see's them. "We need to find shelter. NOW!" he is already ushering Helena, though where?"
Danee screams at the first boom throwing her hands up to cover her head and dropping to her knees. But As she realizes that they are not under attack in the usual manner she peeks up and around wincing as some one off under that barrage screams inside her head. "Where?" she looks at around straightening and trying to look normal.
Chovian winces and whips around toward the devastation booming in from above, eyebrows lifting eyes going wide a moment before he looks around. "Right, do you have a cellar?" He asks looking to Esther. "Anything will do, we must get children to safety!"
The falling debris is very quickly making it's way towards their location. A streak flies overhead, the meteorite fizzing out in the atmosphere above them. "Stephen.. Sarai.." She whispers suddenly. "I got to find my kids!" There is a sudden sound of panic in her voice. But, she pulls herself together and she looks back to the group. "The waterfall.. behind it.. there is a natural cavern.. It isn't big, but it is all I can think of." Her gaze scans around rapidly. "Let's start ushering people there!"
Distant sounds of bombs lighting the night sky. Helena stays frozen until she feels Conoger's hand on her back and she looks up at him with wide eyes and nods. "Most of the kids are still in the Dining hall. Michael is in the nursery with Sarai. She informs him and looks over to Esther, "Stephen was in the dining hall last I saw." She informs her as she comes back to her senses. The big booms have Bay covering her ears and burying her head into Helena's shoulder. "Its Ok Bay...we get to play in the caves today like bears do." She tries to say reassuringly though her voice is shaking as she moves toward the Dining hall to start collecting more of the children. Thank goodness for lunch time and most of them being consolidated now!
Conoger tries to get the best calmness in his voice after his raised voice of now. As he leads Helena , he hears Chovian and then Esther...yes, natural cave, safer. Then he hears Helena mention something about the kids, Michael and Sarai in the nursery and he nods to her and looks to Esther. " Esther, go to the hall, get Stephen and warn all others. I will get Michael and Sarai and meet you all at the cave." then with a man with purpose he leaves and heads to the landing pad.
Danee listens closely although any one looking would thing she was losing her mind. She looks over at Chovian, "See if you can get the local authorities. I am sure they know but we need them to know in case the cave. well in case it takes a direct hit." she turns and looks at the water fall. "We can hand off the children from one adult to the next to get them up to the cave."
Zank seems to have found one calm horse. He is riding in from the fields after some target practice when the meteors started to fall. He gallops across the plain and into the monastery as the pieces fly over the place. He rounds a corner almost running over a panicking women. He pulls back on the reigns before he dose and looks around for his family. He's not panicked, more focused. He dose spy Conoger lumbering towards the landing pads. "THOR!" he calls turning his direction towards the Viking to match his pace.
Chovian glances toward Esther, his brow knitting a bit and he moves toward the dinning hall, casting a nod back to Danee. "Go to the caves cousin!" Said before he starts running, to go and find his son of course! He activates his pda as he runs. "Attention Jiangyin marshal office please come in are you there?"
Meanwhile, Fred the robot has jumped a bit, well, he sort of rose upward suddenly and bobbed down again lower than normal, when the loud noises started. Now the six legged android is scurrying around, a bit franticly, but at least with those four evenly spaced lenses he doesn't knock into anyone.
Chovian's attempts at calling the marshal office goes unanswered. It's pretty understandable considering the situation. Screams begin to fill the atmosphere as children and adults that live here begin to run around in terror. It is chaos! Esther watches as Conoger begins racing towards the landing pad and then Chovian runs towards the dining hall. Esther looks conflicted, but she has to trust people. Over the sudden noise, Esther runs to Danee, "Help me get these people towards the cave!" There is suddenly an explosion as a small meteorite strikes the firing range where Zank just came from. Debris flies into the air, raining dirt and rock down around them.
Helena's runs along with those heading towards the dining hall. No doubt finding some kids pressed to windows and others hiding under tables. Helena opens the door with one hand with a crying Bay still clinging tightly to her side. "Everyone line up and hold hands. We are going to go to the waterfall. All you older ones pick up the littlest." She directs though her voice is slightly strained, but she manages to keep herself calm for the children's sake. "Listen to Mr. Chovian as well and follow me." She directs the kids and takes the hand of the first child in line and starts to make her way towards the caves.
Conoger is running, the sounds of things hitting the ground, the noise of the burning sky. He see's other people running, panicking. " GET TO THE WATER FALL!" he is yelling, loudly and as loud as he can muster, specially with all that is happening. As he continues to run towards the landing pad he hears Thor, he looks over and see's Zank. " Get Jisae to the waterfall, cave...get as many people as you can there…now." he needs not explain no more, he has little time. his family is in danger. So he takes off faster, running with a vigour of a madman.
Danee yells, "Fred! This way" Then she turns to Esther. "Fred and I can clear a path. You need to find everyone and get them running in this direction. Every one's panicking." Not that Danee is not but she turns and head towards what could be a path and begins to roll the decorative boulders out of the way.
Zank nods and takes off at a gallop. Towards the landing pads himself. Jisae was out on her bike last he saw she could be miles form here but if the ships need to be moved or protected some how he's all game. Plus Conoger might need help. A meteor hits near by and the blast rocks Zank and the horse.
Chovian grumbles in frustration as he goes looking for the children in the dining area. "Come on get out!" He says waving them to move. "To the cave!" He says in as calm but as loud a voice as he can. His eyes scan over faces skipping past them, hearing the screams he lifts his comm again. "Anyone who cannot get to the waterfal at the entrance go to the ships, stand under them if you must! Be mindful help others!" He's trying to give clear directions in the hopes people wont have to panick as much. He isnt paying much attention to his own safety at this point, leaving him vulnerable to whatever chaotic mess might happen. He knows what his job is.
Fred the robot scurries toward Danee and rotates a moment as if looking all around. Then the domed hull tilts upward so one of those lenses can look toward the horizon. "Fireworks."
The top of the mountain gets struck. The sound is deafening. It is the roaring sound of the projectile followed by the excruciatingly loud sound of the explosion. Rocks fall down the mountainside and fire erupts in the trees surrounding the site. Inside the dining hall, there is screaming and wailing. However, with the assistance of the adults, Chovian and Helena are able to usher them out the door and towards the waterfall cavern. Though, in the back there is the sound of a child crying. Stephen will be found there, utterly terrified. It would seem the explosions and chaos have brought back certain triggers within the lad. Zank and Conoger run past folks who are all running towards the main entrance. When they make it to the landing pad, the sky is completely filled with streaks of light. The forest beyond the monastery is ablaze. Who knows what could have happened to the small village to the south and to Twin Oaks farther away. Danee's efforts to usher people in the right direction is difficult work, but people seem to be accepting of the direction. Though, soon the small cavern is becoming crammed full of people.
Helena keeps hold of the child's hand she has and leads them towards the cave, keeping watch of the kids then the sky and towards the landing pad and back again. Once they get to the cave, she helps them settle inside. "All the big kids pair up with a little and hold them in your lap. You all have a job to keep each other together here." She directs the children, trying to keep them tight together and 'stacked' on. She releases the hand of the child to one of the older kids and goes to stand by the entrance to wait for the others to arrive. Her gaze towards the landing pad. She is stroking Bay's head with one hand, the child crying with the noise. "Its alright Bay...its alright.." She murmurs.
Conoger is indeed running as a piece of lands hard around the area he falls down, his ears ringing and he feels blood flowing down his face. Yet he seems to get up by will alone and keeps on going. His lungs burning but he can see the ships now at least. The ramp of the Aces is down and then he realises Zank was near by before the explosion, he looks around, trying to see where the man is as he still runs towards the Aces. He can feel a dull ache on his side, he may have hurt his side again, yet he still moves, his family needs saving.
Chovian spots Stephen crying in the back of the dining hall. "Stephen!" He shouts reaching out his hand. "Come on!" Moving toward him he kneels down and reaches out to lift the boy right up and turn, to begin moving a bit more quickly back to catch up with the other children, but he stays in the back to make sure each of them make it. "Are you ok?" He asks Stephen even as his eyes search the area.
When the impact hits near Zank and Conoger, Danee jerks her attention in that direction. She feels more that hears a small sharp piece of debris fly through the air and skim off her cheek. She so wants to see if They are all right. Conoger is. She can hear his pain and feel his lungs burning, In the fray it is hard to filter out all the voices. Damn Zank talk to me she thinks but she turns back to the path and watches Fred push the last boulder out of the way, "Get inside" she tells him. "Chovian would kill me if anything happened to you. Besides. I'd hat it if any thing did." she turns to take a small child from the arms of a bigger child who is almost too small to be a bigger child. "Let me help" and then heads for the cave where she turns teh little one back over to the bigger one. "Watch fred for me will you?"
Zank and the horse come threw the dust of the impact though Zank seems to ridieng sort of side ways at the moument. He pulls himself up as he comes threw the dust and smoke. "GET TO THE JIA!." ge yells to the people. He yells into his comm peice. "Anyone on the jis fire th reactor now. Enngines thrusters and all the sensors you can give me! NOW!" he yells. He cuts off people running to the caves. "You wont make it get to the Jia!" he says and then halls ass for the ship.
Kyoshiro was busy getting Oli and Mura on the ship where at least the Jia had some armor plating on her. He would then rush back with some of his men to help others find shelter but as Zank runs towards the south and the Lower Circle where he's comming from he says something in Romany to his men who move to go help Danee and Esther and the others before he starts running back towards the south with Zank. He speaks Romany into his comm unit... some of his men must be aboard the ship.

Luka had been in the Jia when he got Zank's comm to start her up.. and then Kyoshiro's boys beat him to it. He instead rushed to the cargo bay to look out the ramp the happenings outside. Always one for eloquence he comments, "Well... shit."
It couldn't possibly get worse. Can it? It does. There is the loud roar of a meteorite that streaks through the air. It blows right through the top layer of the dojo, sending fragments of wood scattered in thousands of directions. The dojo is immediately engulfed in flames. Though, the projectile goes through the air and SLAMS into the rocky surface of the mountain above the cavern area. Rocks fall down, sealing off the cavern and trapping people inside. People will be hurt and many children are screaming inside the cavern that is now filled with heat and dust.
Esther is outside and she suddenly shrieks as shrapnel from the dojo exploding strikes her and sends her flying away.
Chovian was following along at the back of the trail of children to make sure he could stuff as many in there as he could, for the presumption of safety. They manage to get inside when those explosions rock the ground beneath them, throwing Chovian off his feet and onto his rump with a nice thump. The sound of falling rocks then and he tries to push people back from the mouth of the cave grabbing Danee in the process just as a rock slams into his leg and the man emits a howl of pain. Amongst the sound of falling rocks is the distinct sound of a bone breaking.
Fred isn't really in much danger, he can take a bullet, a big bullet, though he does back up as if worried he might get hit by the falling rocks they emit dull thumps as they strike the domed composite that makes up the top of his hull.
Chloe comes running down from the mountain, having just been arriving with Rolend from an off planet day trip when this all started. Counter to all reason Chloe suddenly remembers, "Michael!" She turns to pivot back the way she came, ignoring the need for shelter even as the dojo explodes, "Ohhh, nonononono!"
Helena strangles back a scream as the meteorite comes near the landing pad, her arms tightening around Bay as she watches through the gaps in the waterfall. Part of her wanting to go out there, but knowing she is needed here. Bay's cries force her to gentle her hold on her adopted daughter instead of squeezing the child. Bay reaches out toward the water with grubby grabby fingers, "Ahar! Ahar!" She cries out. Helena turns away from the opening of the cavern as she hears another explosion going to her knees and curling over her daughter. Some flying debris strikes her in the back which sends her falling forward with a cry of pain and blood spots sprout across her back.
Rolend blinks in surprise watching top of the dojo disappear. He starts moving toward it when Chloe comes rushing past going the other direction. He makes a grab at her, and fails, and moves after her trying to keep up with the load he carries, "Doc!...."
Conoger finally reaches the Aces, the pain on his side getting worse but he continues up the ramp and into the cargo bay, it is here he see's Svet and the two kids with her. She is curled up in a corner with both of them and Conoger feels that satisfied relief that they are all alright. Though it is that sharp pain again on his side but he grunts it off, still believing it from his previous injuries. Then it happens, just off the ramp of the Aces a massive explosion, which rocks Aces back and forth. It knocks him forwards from the impact it's self and then sends him flying towards the crates. He is not sure what transpired but once again he feels that pain, worse than before but he tries to get up but he has no strength, his arms feel weak. Yet he manages to crawl, out of the pile of crates and the smoke filled air.
Danee had been leaving the cave to help more kids in when Chovian comes up. She smiles at the ones he delivers and starts to move around him when the meteor hits atop the falls. If Chovian had not shoved her she would have been under the rocks that hits his leg. in stead she stumbles backwards and trips over Fred landing on her bum. A couple of sharp shards of rock slice into her Right thigh. She takes a deep breath and says, "stops screaming now. check the person beside you and see if any one is hurt." She takes a deep breath and presses her hand on to her thigh. "Fred? Fred? are you all right? Do you have a light? It will be less scary if there is light in here."
Zank doesn't get off the horse. "Luka once ship is powered get as many people on board as we can fit. Get airborne and find a place t' hide her under a cliff or something safe..!" he turns hearing Conoger and Chloe some how threw the chaos. "Kyo get your men on the ship keep the people calm best they can render aid." he turns in time to see the Dojo explode and Zank curses and sees Esther go flying. "Get em on board!!" he shouts and takes off across the landing pad. Another smaller meteor crashes on the landing pad much closer to Zank and his horse. The force sends Zank flying into the dust and debrie. He vanishes
Vincent was not expecting a meteor shower, nor was he expecting one where the space rocks wouldn't just burn up in the atmosphere... And he certainly wasn't expecting to die in one... But hey, life sucks... then you... well you get it. Gavver Vincent Polskie and two other Gavver were helping usher people into the cave when the meteor struck. A big chunk of rock fell down and slammed right into Vincent with a loud thud and explosion of water sending his team mates flying... It takes them a minute to recover but they report the incident to Kyo...
"Get them to the Ships... push them south... as many as you can." Kyoshiro shouts over his comm. His men do as told and as Zank gets struck he puts and arm up over his face and turns away, the impact whipping his haori around. Rocks and shrapnel bounce off his armor... Then he looks around. He spends time trying to find Zank but Cant. With a growl he continues to the ship, running up into the Cargo bay. Soon people will start to arrive. He instructs a few of his men on board to go out and help the best they can.
Luka nods to Zank's words and turns to rush into the cargo bay and up the steps destined for the bridge. He misses the sight of the captain going down, but glances back down into the bay to stop Kyoshiro come inside. As he rushes through the interior to the bridge he speaks into the comm, "You let me know whem I'm good to lift off Mibu, I'll have us ready."
Fire crackles at the dojo and there are now bodies littering the grounds. Some adult, some children. Esther lies unconscious, crumpled up by the wall of the monastery. Those still able to, now run towards the Jia as the cavern has now been sealed off due to the rocks that had fallen. The streaks are still overhead, though they are lessened, moving onwards towards the northern regions of the planet. The explosions continue, but working to the north now, growing further away and causing more damage to the natural landscapes to the north. Debris litters the monastery. Dust fills the air.
There is a sound, that crackly robotic voice in the darkness of the sealed off cave, now partially destroyed. "Lights... lights.." Fred has heard that word before though it is more the context in which Danee is saying it than anything. Then, after a few moments of darkness and the children trying to not cry as much though the sounds are still pitiful. A ring of light starts to glow emanating from one of Fred's lensed 'eyes' It is rather dim but it is enough that those inside can see figures, and dust, and then faces can be made out as it gets a bit brighter. Chovian is laying on his back with a few rocks on one of his legs, unconscious.
Helena rolls to her side, her first thought to check Bay who is unharmed in the protective case of her arms though a little stunned from the fall. The movement though causes a strangled cry from her own lips and she lifts a hand to feel at her back and it comes away with blood on it. Her hand trembles as it comes back to Bay. Her gaze flickers over towards some of the other adults and children in the cavern. Most protected, but some with some level of injury from flying debris. "Get further back..." She gasps out in a strained voice full of pain and no small amount of fear. More blood is spreading out from the wounds on her back, but not a huge amount. But it marks the points of entry, the worse looking about at the waist along the spine and she hasn't moved since she was knocked down. "Connie.." She murmurs as she wraps her arms around Bay protectively, though its not long before her arms go slack as she falls unconscious. One of the adults nearest her crawl to her to drag her further in and put pressure on her wounds.
Chloe waves at him, "Find shelter! Find shelter! Avoid trees and buildings! Someplace low! I will find you I find my son!" her long legs churning as she hikes up her skirt for better speed, "Oh please, Oh please, nonononono!"
Rolend has to drop his tools and his med kit to catch up to her. He wraps an arm around her waist to try to stop her, "Doc! Stop!.. We got tons of wounded..." He lets her go, and jabs a finger back at the Dojo fire, "Doc you have to help 'em... They're dying right now.. We got crew back that way!"
Conoger is in pain, plenty of pain but he crawls from out of the crates and slowly starts to get to his knees and as he does he feels that sharp pain right along his side. He glances down and he can see something sticking out he grunts and growls from the pain but he is not thinking of himself, he is thinking of the kids. He starts to look around then, eyes blurry, smoke filled cargo bay, making it hard to focus. So he goes to the spot he had last seen Svet and the two kids, moving crates as he does, pain going through his body and then finds them. Svet is still in the corner but not moving at all. As he comes closer and to her side she is unconscious, both Sarai and Michael crying loudly now. Svet has a head wound, bleeding from her forehead but she did have the good conscious of protecting both kids with her body. Now Conoger has pretty much not much options, so he stays, sweeps up both babes into his arms and holds them, letting the kids screams drown away what he is feeling like. So now, all he can do is try to use the comms...try as they were not working earlier, will they work now. " Mayday, Mayday....Conoger here...injured in Aces...mayday." his breath going away, taking a deep breath not a option.
Danee smiles at Fred. "thank you," She wiggles to sit up. The shards acting as a cork in the wounds. She tears off a strip of her dress and wraps it about her thigh. Once done. She crawls over to Chovian. Noticing the rocks piled on his lower leg she moves over and starts to move them off. But as she removes the first layer more fall onto his legs. She stops and taking a deep breath. She turns and looks over at the children and teachers. "I think we are here for a while."
Kyoshiro is busy rushing people aboard the ship... though as he gets as many people as he can on board he takes a peak outside. His brows narrow and he finds his way to the comm and presses the button. "Hold fast Mr. Volkov... I think the storm is letting up..." He says before going back to help... though... just as he's about to close the doors he can hear Conoger... He grumbles and starts down the ramp and runs to the Aces to see what's going on with him. "Thor..." HE calls out up the ramp.
Luka sits in the cockpit, ready to go when ordered.. but holds at Kyo's request.
The storm does let up, the hellfire from above is moving northwards, continuing it's rampage through the lands and away from them. People begin coughing and the monastery looks like a warzone. Children crying fills the air. Wounded begin to wander about, trying to make sense of their surroundings.
Chovian begins to rouse emitting a gruff growl of pain as Danee pushes the rocks about. "What... wha.." A pause. "Stephen?" Asked as he looks around for his son, spotting Danee. "Are we trapped?"
Chloe struggles and looks at him, "I. MUST. Find my CHILD!" she swallows and struggles desperately but his grip is like iron. Her eyes fill with water and she begs, "Please just help me find Michael...Please, please HELP me!" desperation causing her voice to crack. She looks at the fire and swallows, "We'll need gurneys, and oxygen." she sucks a deep breath, hands shaking with panic, "We will see if anyone is on the ship to help." She then remembers the com, "Jia! this is Dr. Jameson! Are there able bodies? Anyone have a status of my child? Please, someone answer!"
Rolend nods once to Chloe as she starts talking on the comms. He turns and runs back toward his bags. Grabbing the straps as he runs by he makes straight for the fire, and anyone he can find to help.
Danee sits down near Chovian and nods, "yeah." She looks around and sees the boy with two smaller children. "He seems to be ok. I can't get your foot out from under the rubble. Fred is providing the light and every one is settling down to wait and see." she wraps her arms about her. "I lost.. contact with Zank. I am afraid."
Conoger still sits there, right up against the bulkhead inside the Aces, in the cargo bay. There is crates here and there , all over the place but Conoger, Sarai, Michael and Svet are in a corner. Both Babies are fine, Svet is unconscious and bleeding from a head wound. Conoger has something or another (piece of wood) sticking out from his back, through his side. He holds both babes, sitting right beside Svet. His head bobbing back and forth, trying to stay conscious, he hears cries still but everything is mumbled, all is jumbled into everything else. He hears Thor been yelled from outside the Aces, he wants to say something, he wants to make contact but right now he barely can keep the babes within his arms. "Help.." barely coming out, his breath gone again.
Kyoshiro purses his lips together as he finds Conoger, Svet and Michael. "Hold on buddy... don't shut your eyes just yet... lady Doc will come fix you up." His use of rim mannerisms after spending time with Zank and 'merging' with the spirit of Jade mixed with his core monotone is more then a bit odd. He has resolve, but it's not strong enough to reach Danee over the great distance to comfort her. He doesn't have that connection with her as strong as Zank and Fao. "Doc... your kid is here with Svet and Conoger... Thor is banged up really bad. Svets got a cut on his head or something..." He then comms Luka, "Hey Volkov... take a group of my men.. get the stretchers out from the med bay and start a triage... Pick up bodies and such... Keep the reactor hot though. Storms passed... Don't mean we won't get hit again..." That might be a bad idea seeing as Luka is Gadje and his men are weary of such and also... speak little English. He then comms some of his men and speaks in Romany, "Dimitri... Alexander... let's go dig some people out from a cave..." Though he'll wait for Chloe to show.
Luka spends a few moments look at the ships sensor to confirm what he is seeing out the view port.. indeed the storm has passed for now as far as he can tell. He is already on his feet and moving away from the bridge when he hears Kyo on the comms and replies, "On it, Kyo," before yelling for help to some of the Romani on board. They get called by the wrong names, but he relays the orders and heads to the medbay to start bringing out whatever stretchers they have available.
Disaster can bring out the worst in people. Though, the people here are really good people. The best is beginning to shine in the people here. Some of the people are simple villagers. Some are still refugees from Bernadette. Though, people begin to rise and work together. Children are being gathered by a few of the women while a couple men are moving about to shift the wounded from the dead.
As the dust begins to clear but the fires still rage around the destruction becomes ever more apparent. In the street near the entrance to the monastery is another of many collapsed buildings. This one wood and splinters. Its not on fire...well not yet anyway. Having been blown over by the concussion of a strike. Sitting on a piece of splintered wood almost like it was placed there in some cruel form of a joke is a familiar brown duster, torn up and a little bloodied....it sways in breeze...
Chloe comms back to Kyo, "Keep them conscious if you can, I'm on my way. We will need shelter for the wounded, and potable water. I lost track of Mr. Rolend, he was seen going towards the monastery." she runs aboard the Jia and pants, "Where are you?" as she bounds up the stairs and calls aloud rather than over the com, "Mr. Jacobs? Mr. Mibu?"
Rolend is almost instantly overwhelmed with wounded, and dead. Trying to sort one from the other, checking vitals, patching what he can patch quickly, and moving on. He pulls some boards aside to find another corpse, and in another two steps has to clean and badge cuts. He catches sight of few that he knows or can recognize in the midst of the dust, blood, and flames.
As Conoger sits with the two babes in his arms he looks at Kyo, he knows it's Kyo, that so far is something his body is telling him. " Kyo...take Michael and Sarai." One been his son and the other been Doc's and Esther's baby girl both just over a year at least but still small. He tries to lift them but his strength is gone. " Save the babes Kyo...get them safe...I'll be.." his head is bobbing , he is close to unconsciousness. "Plea...se." soon, he knows he is going to pass out, to much blood, to much pain and the breathing...he can't breath that well no more or at all. Soon all is dark, he is either sleeping or it went dark, the noises sound so far, far away.
Danee notices Chovian has lost consciousness again. She turns and looks over at the children and women. She smiles at Stefan. Then moves to sits with her back against the wall. A couple of the smaller children come to sit beside her. She closes her eyes and lets her mind drift out and away from the cave. searching for Zank. Hoping to find him.
Kyoshiro kneels down in front of Conoger, "Listen here chap... you need to stay awake or your brain ant going to work right after all this..." He smacks Conoger in the face, "You got that..." Though he does take the kids from the hulking man into his own large arms. He finds one of the females in his unit who took refuge on the Aces and tells her to care for the two as if they were her own. The women responds kindly, having much reverence for her commander...
Across the way to the Jia, Kyoshiro can just barely pick up Chloe calling out for him and he makes a bit of a guess. "Chloe...." He says over the comm, "On the Aces..." Though he's sure Mr. Volkov can take it from here... He then moves to start down the ramp and pauses just out side... watching that brown duster sway in the wind... He wanted nothing more then to run off after Zank in this moment... but he knows the man his strong and if he ant dead, we'll he'll crawl, and he can't do that... To Danee, it may not be Zank... but all of a sudden this giant wave of Resolve and strength pushes it's way into her brain pan and it starts to get closer ad Dimitri and Alexander march towardts the water fall, weaving in and out of those wounded and dead... past Rolend.
Luka is guiding the Jia's hoverbed down into the cargo bay when Chloe comes bounding up the stairs yelling for people that aren't on board. "Doc.. they're not here..." and Kyoshiro's terse response comes over the Comms to confirm it. "Next door." He moves the rest of the way down the bay with a few members of Kyo's Romani following behind him carrying sheets and blankets from the extra bedding. Luka directs them to some of the supplies in the bay so they can start putting together a few more makeshift stretches to use in carrying the wounded while he heads down the ramp with the bed to start collecting.
Esther is buried under a little bit of rubble herself. Her eyes open and she blinks a couple of times. Then the pain sets in and she involuntarily grimaces. She whispers something in Spanish, likely grumbling or cursing. Reaching out, she tries to push the rubble off herself, alas, it has her pinned. She grunts, pushes again, but there she remains. She blinks, looking through the cracks of the rubble. "Well.. didn't see that coming.." She mutters to herself.
Near were the duster hangs on the broken wood plank, there is the corps of a horse. It has been impaled and was killed on impact the wood that speared it probably didn't help. The blood seeps into the ground mixing with the ash and debrie of the rest of the monastery. If Zank is alive and was reaching out to Danee its not strong and certainly overwhelmed by Kyos burst of psychic power to the women.
Chloe comes running up to Find first the women with the children. Chloe can't override the panic and before she can focus anything else checks Michael quickly and then kisses his brow, giving a soft hiccupped sob of relief then shakes it off and moves to carefully as she can leverage Conoger to his back on the floor and begins cutting clothes off, "You STILL do not have permission to die!" She tells him, "You saved our son..." She rubs her knuckles on his chest across his sternum, "Wake!" She commands before she begins to tend to him with IVs from her emergency kit She sighs, "I need help getting him to the medical bay!" She's on the aces in the cockpit with an unconscious Conoger. She sniffles, "Damned stubborn ass. Where is the armor?" She hefts him up and by his arms and drags him towards the medical bay, trying to get him towards the medical bay. He needed surgery pronto, and there would be many others.
If anyone happens to be looking up, another meteor, trailing smoke, appears to be hurtling down, straight towards you. It looks like a big one; about the size of a shuttle.
The woman working on Helena sits back and leans against the cavern's wall. "The bleeding has stopped. She is still breathing. Helena's little one curls up along side her. Most of the children are quite. some of the older ones are telling stories softly or singing quietly to the little ones. Danee closes her eyes and relaxes.
Rolend is rushing from spot to spot, doing what he can for those he can help. He skids to a spot kneeling look at a child held in a weeping mother's arms. He knows just looking that there's too much damage. He checks for vitals anyhow, and can do nothing but slowly shake his head as the mother's wails grow even louder. He puts a hand on her arm, before he rushes off again. He is moving slowly past where the entrance to the dojo was, trying to head in the direction of the ships. He never makes it far. His medic bags is quickly emptying as he runs out of items one by one.
Conoger gets slapped, which pretty much brings him back for a few moments just enough to hear Chloe's voice. He relaxes then or just feels his strength fully go away. He feels himself been dragged is the next conscious thing he knows as the pain is keeping him semi conscious. " Svet....hel...p...Svet." then that is all he gets out, the pain is too much. As he is dragged up to the medbay some how.
Kyoshiro and his men arrive at the waterfall and Kyoshiro grumbles. "Can we dam it?" He asks Dmitri...
"No... the river will flood..." Dmitri responds.
Kyoshiro curses and pushes through the water with the men. He notices some rocks on the side of the mountain just behind the waterfall. "Here... start removing rocks..." And he rolls up his sleeves and gets to work even though he's getting all wet... giggidy.
As the meteor gets closer, it is accompanied by a roar of sound, loud enough to rattle whatever's left to rattle, and a metallic glint flashes off of it, revealing it to be, in fact, a badly damaged shuttle. It flips in the air as it descends, attitude adjusters clearly bashed to hell, and looks like it's going to slam right into the monastery.
Luka hefts a wounded man onto the hover bed and puts a hand on it to start pushing it back towards the Jia when the object hurdling towards them in the sky gets his attention. "Day just gets better..." he mutters before yelling out, "INCOMING!"
Esther is trapped and can't do much. This frustrates her to no end! Her imagination is running wild now. She has no idea what the status of her children could be. "Someone out there?!" Esther calls out, still stuck under the rubble. There is a sharp pain in her side and on her leg. She struggles in a futile attempt.
Meanwhile, at the cavern, rocks are beginning to get moved. The rocks at the top roll off and make a small hole leading into the cavern. A ray of light beams within. Children suddenly call out in excitement. "Hurry! We have wounded in here!" Comes a woman's voice.
Meanwhile as the shuttle plunges towards the monastery, people begin to scream out! They dive for shelter, scooping up children along the way.
As the shuttle hurtles towards the earth, the roar of the engines suddenly cuts out, and the nacelles flip around before roaring back to life again, and the momentum shifts, abruptly, causing the shuttle to lose it's arc and drop straight down, landing with astonishing neatness onto the ground, right in front of the monastery. As it lands, the portside buffer panel and the starboard engine nacelle drop right off and land next to it in the dirt. There is a delayed crashing sound from inside the shuttle, and then a little tinkle of broken glass, and then the creak and sigh of cooling metal.
Kyoshiro and his men dig through the rocks and rubble until they can start pulling people out through the water fall and bring them to Chloe and Joe.
Rolend barely looked up until Luka shouted, and everyone started to scatter. He watches the shuttle just until he knows its not going to crash, and moves on the next case, hoping they're alive this time.
