The PC-JR is a rifle that combines the best and brightest of the Commonwealth's ideals boiled down into a new assault rifle. First and foremost - it's simple in design. A selective-fire, gas operated rolling block piston weapon, it's made of stamped metal and it's blocky lines have a sort of simple clean aesthetic. The wooden pistol grip is stained and sealed against the elements; the entire weapon is painted in a dark purple color and the side of the weapon is stamped with the seal of the Commonwealth. The sights are simple - a holosight that runs on a small battery and is around a generation or two behind the cutting edge but will run in rain, shine or bar-fight. The stock is composite metal and can contract a small amount to account for differing frames but this is not a weapon built for concealment at all. This is a weapon built for the Rim, where the nearest weapon-smith may be a few planets away - this weapon will run after getting dumped into snow, a lake, a toxic waste dump or after being used to beat down a drunken mob in a bar brawl. The safety mechanisms are a simple switch that's ambidexterous and vents have been cut in the barrel for recoil management purposes. Some variants include a scope for longer range work; some variants place a metal bipod under the front handguard and use a drum magazine as a simplified light machine gun. The wooden stock is not put to waste - the space inside is used with a sliding door to reveal a survival kit with compass, fishing line, small saw, a metal flask. This is a Commonwealth weapon through and through - if you are carrying this and do NOT wear the Mark, no doubt you are about to get a whuppin'.
