NPC History
Ginger is the family's golden child and she knows it. The first child born in the next generation of the Tanner household (after the tragic death of James' and Angeline's child when Angeline was killed during her pregnancy), Ginger is spoiled absolutely rotten.
Growing up on a horse ranch, Ginger might be living the dream of every adolescent girl, but she has it in her head that there is something more out there, an idea that only gained momentum when her aunt, Ashlyn Tanner, left home at the age of nineteen and found work on a firefly. Ginger, who had always ingested a little too much sugar and watched a few too many cartoons, hero worshiped her aunt and longed to leave her world of normalcy. She wanted to see the `verse, she wanted to fly through the stars. Most of all, she wanted to meet a real, honest to goodness space pirate. They couldn't be all that scary right? After all, on the holovid they were always singing and getting drunk and flying from planet to planet digging up buried treasure.
Ginger got her chance to hop the `verse, soon enough, though it wasn't at all like she'd expected. When the Chaos Theory landed on Hera, Ginger demanded a tour of the ship from Ashlyn, who for reasons she didn't really catch, suddenly seemed in a terrible rush to leave. During the confusion as the ship hastily prepared for takeoff, Ginger was able to stow away unnoticed on board. Link
The reason for the rush, it turns out, was a cryptic message from Paul Horizon, who had kidnapped the ship's XO, Madison Radcliffe, and was holding her hostage. Shortly after the ship set down on Newhall, Ashlyn discovered her niece hiding in her bunk, and drug her out to answer to the ship's captain, Sujiko Tokari. But unfortunatly for everybody, the need for haste was more important than making sure that Ginger stayed where she was told, and no sooner had the crew rushed off than Ginger was once again unattended. Seeing her chance to finally participate in one of the adventures she was sure her aunt had on a daily basis, Ginger followed, walking in on a fairly bloody scene. Ashlyn dragged her back to the ship before the carnage got much worse, but Ginger was suitably traumatized by the event. Link
Ginger stayed on board just long enough for the crew to get her back to Hera.
