The Ship
This Hummingbird-Class Star-fighter is sleek and compact compared to some other designs that are floating around out there. The primary utility of this vessel is for atmospheric and space skirmishes, and there is a spitting resemblance of the ship to the likeness of a jet from the days of old. At the same time it can be duly noted that there are major differences still and after the cockpit, those semblances disappear. From fore to aft the ship's overall length is sixteen meters, the wingspan measures in at ten meters, and the height at five meters. The ship is battle ready and sports six separate hardpoints for missile racks, four of which are retractable and the other two are fixed. All are affixed to the underside of the wings, those most outboard are the non-retractable racks. The vessel also totes twin kinetic cannons along the bottom of the nose, fixed in the forward position so that, like the old days, the ship has to be pointed in the direction of fire. Also, there's a ventral hardpoint for either an extra fuel tank or a heavy bomb. Mechanically the ship is outfitted with twin Crusoe Ion SL engines with afterburner capabilities and the latest thrusters from Karambit Industries that are mounted on gradient hydraulics. Towards the aft there are many different spine-like fins that rise up from the ship's tight framing, all for various purposes, but many designed to provide superior atmospheric control and maneuverability. The ship is painted a semi-gloss black with red pin-stripping highlighting some of the more dangerous or exotic features.
