Log_Characters::Faoite McGuire, Kyoshiro, Willow Merryweather

McGuire steps back away from the ship, pulling his pouch out to roll a cigarette. Sweat still pouring down his face, blinking his eye's to keep it from stinging his eye's. The work on the ship has been none stop so far, he knows they are in peril, but this crew can only do so much and he can only work so fast. Licking his rolly closed, he lights it and returns the fixings where he got them. Pulling a deep drag, he inspects the work he's done so far on this hole. <English>

Kyoshiro makes his way to where Fao chooses the rest. The defenses are in place despite how crude or improvised the pill boxes and trenches may be it at least provided cover. "They just finished clearing a way for the Jiro to get to the main road. We will go pick up that heavy part tomorrow. Locals came through for us." <English>

McGuire gives a nod and a slight smile, "Gods are on our side today. That part will need a crane to get it into the engine room, unless we take it apart to more manageable sizes. I got it in my head we can reduce it to three sections, but it will still break our backs to get it down there. Thought about using the parts hatch below, but the engine part is to wide, even in three sections. You, me, some of your men..." He sighs and arches his back again at the thought. "We can get it down there and installed." He looks to Kyo, "You do realize this a weeks worth of work ahead of us." He pulls another drag and looks to the sky for a moment. <English>

There's a bit of rustling that comes from within the forest some distance away. A sound as though there's something making its way through the trees. This continues now and again, until after a few long minutes, the forest expels the trespasser. Who happens to be none other than Willow. Who happens to be dragging along the carcass of a buck deer, hauling it by the antlers. It's been some time since the last time she was here at the ship, for she went out hunting hours ago. <English>

Kyoshiro frowns a bit at the mention of a crane. "Well maybe we can build one or... steal one somewhere. Its becoming more rare to run into people out there. They all have gone to the woods. Some of the locals have stayed though. They think Legion wont move on from the cities." He looks over to the tree line as Willow exits with a stag and smirks. "I think we will be alright though." <English>

McGuire's hand goes to his weapons hilt, eye's turning to the noise, until Willow shows herself. He relaxes a moment, taking another drag. "Good job Willow." He says, knowing there will be plenty of food for the kids now. Jia's supplies seem to go quick the kids around. He wonders if the girls can still feel the Night Angel or is she just haunts them in their dreams. He pulls another drag and breaths deep. He looks at Kyo, "I hope you're right Mibu." <English>

The redheaded woman continues to drag the deer, at least doing so until she reaches the ramp of the ship. There, she releases the carcass, and then she lowers to one knee next to it. Her gaze turns towards Kyo and Fao, and a small smile touches at the corners of her lips before she gives a nod to him. "Thank you," she says softly, then lifts a hand to push a bit of hair from her face. "It ought last at least a little while," Willow offers, a bit of a smile returning to her features. The deer is of fair size, but... with so many to feed, a little while will likely only be a few days at the most. "I found a river, as well. I suspect there to be fish, but... that adventure will be another day," she adds. <English>

Kyoshiro nods looking over the stag. "Ill smoke some. Should be plenty or squirle and boar about too out here. Though perhaps Ill take a trip out tomorrow myself and see if I cant get anything." He stands back up and looks between the two. "Fish.. would be a good variety." He looks around, "heck if we were going to be here that long we could probably plant a garden... this used to be a small farm." He looks back to willow, "The men finished clearing out the old dirt road for the 'Jiro. We can meet those shady characters for that engine." <English>

McGuire says, "Until we can get more plating, this will have to do." Motioning to the half covered hole still remaining in the side of the ship. "I've covered the inside with plastic as best I can to keep out the bugs. It'll have to do til we can get more." He looks to Kyo and says, "We're not going to be here that long Mibu. Gardens take near a month, and we don't have that long on this rock." He drops his smoked cigarette and snuffs it out with his boot. Stepping up to the torch, he begins to gather up that gear to secure it back inside. "Let me get this back on the ship and then I'll come skin this deer for you." His movements are slow, which only shows how much he's been doing the past day to get done what has been done so far on repairs. "I need that engine when ever you are bring it in. The ship is dead without it and the girls hate cold showers." He drags the gear to the ramp and glances the deer with an approving nod as he passes on his way up to the cargo bay. <English>

Raising an eyebrow slightly, Willow looks to Kyoshiro, and a hint of a smile touches at the corners of her lips. "Smoking some of it isn't a bad idea. It'll preserve it, if it proves to be too much for us to use in the meanwhile," she muses, a thoughtful tone to her voice. "I'll make you a map to get to the river," she adds, giving a small nod to him. She gives a soft grunt, and then she nods to him. "That was good of them to do for us. Hopefully the folks with the engine will prove less than shady. I don't want to have to hurt them," she comments. Then her attention turns to Fao, and she tilts her head slightly to one side, considering. "We don't know Legion's time frame, so... we're kind of at a disadvantage there. Oh, I was able to get a line on some fuel for the ship, which I've got a meet set up for late tonight. And we can harvest some wood from the forest to use as firewood, so maybe they can have baths instead of showers?" she offers. Then she manages a bit more of a smile at his offer of help, and she gives a nod to him. "Thank you, that's appreciated. Their gracefulness does a lot to hide how much they actually weigh," she adds. <English>

Kyoshiro blinks, "Obviously... I was trying to joke. He ha ha." He puts his hands over his hips and purses his lips. "I'm pretty sure the reactor didn't get hit. Not sure why you're having trouble with hot water." He scratches his head, he has no clue about those things. The to Willow he nods, "I would hope not but we should be cautious." <English>

McGuire chuckles at the mention of the deer's weight and gives another nod as he reaches the top of the ramp to unload the torch canisters. He turns back to the opening and says, "Small fire if we have to make one. Don't want to draw undue company with a bright light. We're in no condition to fair off an assault just yet. Captain's quarters has the bath tub..." Then he frowns and looks at Kyo, "Well, it use to. We'll have to fashion a tub for the girls. We've enough water in the Jia's tank for everyone to take a fresh bath. I'll get the largest pot and order the girls to take the empty fuel containers that have been cleaned to fill with water. We'll be heading to the river tomorrow to test it for boiling or drink-ability." He gives the area one more look over before he goes into the dark ship for the large pot and a container of water to get it started. He's an idea of how to fashion a tub, there is enough plastic and he's not a bad engineer when it comes down to it. "OUCH!" comes from the dark ship as Fao stubs his toe on something that shouldn't of been there. "Gorram dark." Whimpers an echo through the bay. <English>

"Caution is always best to have," Willow says softly, a faint smile touching at the corners of her lips. Shifting her weight, she rises to her feet, and then she gives a nod. "We'll keep the fire small, if we make one," she says, easily agreeing. "I'm not sure what's waiting for us, but... we'll find out, soon enough," she says. "I think the water is drinkable. Animals were drinking from it, at least. If there's a raft at all in the supplies, we could always mock it up as a tub," she muses, a thoughtful note to her voice. "Or something," she adds, then lifts a hand to push some of her hair from her face. <English>
