It was still dark, the thick forest echoed with nocturnal noises of crickets and other animals. A wolf howl can be heard off in the distance. According to Kyo's map with the live feed back to Abigail who was tracking the Legionaires via some fashion, likely those reader powers of hers. There was still just the four of them. They were slowly approaching the Jia. There was a dirt road that bisected on section of forest from the other and at least one of those patrols had to cross that. They decided to split up. There was a hill not to far away where they told Abbey to set up, just at the edge of another farm that was abandoned after the invasion. Willow and Kyo would go after the other pair that was heading off towards thick forest and flatter land, not the best place for a sniper. <English>

Abbey took the spot in question that would be a good spot for her to set up on the hill. She is settled down low, rifle perched up slightly and she is looking down the scope making sure all is well it seems. She knows well not to move, and given what they are after right now them finding her on her own wouldn't be a good thing. The wolf howling does little to bother her, and she keeps her attention on the game at hand, looking for the bd guys. <English>

It's a good long while. She's a little too far off to hear anything, though after what seemed like an hour or more her thermals on her scope would pick up her targets. They don't have lights. The tracks from the pilots ran by the farm so it was a good bet the Legionaire pair would check it out to see if they were hiding there. They circle round opposite sides, on stays outside watching while the other enters and starts to search the barn. <English>

Abbey has stayed rather still there in her spot to the point if she wasn't use to the job she would be be hard-pressed to try and move quick like if needed. Still she might regret it somewhat later. With the movement caught on her scope she turns just slightly as she follow them moving on her scope and hums faintly. "Got movement near the barn..." Is offered over the com-unit in a whisper like tone. She wants to give others a heads up should something happen. <English>

After a moment, a crackly Kyo's voice comes back over the shortwave com unit. "Take 'em out at your discretion Abbs. Willow and I are almost in position. Even if they get notified by their buddies, we can take them out." Perhaps there was a method to his madness when splitting up the group. Abbey is set a-top a hill overlooking a farm where one Legionaire guards the outside while the other is inside clearing it. The Pilots trail went directly through it on their way to the Jia so it made sense for them to be checking the place out. Meanwhile a mile or so down the road in the thick and flat forest are Willow and Kyo hunting down the other pair. <English>

Abbey goes about setting her rifle to ready at the OK to take the pair out. Her gaze settles on the barn through the scope and she'll wait to see if the other goes into the barn or will stay guarding the front. With her view only on the front and one side she doesn't want to take a shot and have the other leave out a different way either. "Will do." Is murmured back into the comm. <English>

The Legionaire inside the barn finally comes outside the other side of the barn. He stops though and takes a look around before moving to the other side and calling to his partner who comes to meet him. He shakes his head and points at the various other buildings then back off towards the southwest where the Jia lays. <English>

Abbey lines up a shot when the man comes out from the barn. She doesn't even wait and the shot is taken aimed at the one that is calling the other over to him. In the process of one round being fired she is getting ready to take another shot right away.. <English>

That Legionaire didn't know what hit him. All of a sudden his head explodes with a shower of chunks of blood, brains, and bones. His body falls limp instantly, collapsing on the group right in front of the other Legionaire. The last man standing pauses and blinks, not even sure what he just saw. It's a moment of disbelief and hesitation. How could this be, and there was no loud gunshot that followed. What-just-happened? Is likely going through his mind. <English>

Abbey doesn't let the second man wonder any longer, nope that would be bad frm after all. Another shot is taken and she lets the bullet fire towards him now as well. Another shot being set up if it is needed as well. <English>

The last Legionaire in the pair goes down as a massive hole is blasted through his midsection. Specifically in his chest, rupturing one of his lungs and severing a valve that leads to his heart. If he doesn't die within seconds from lack of breathing properly and internal hemorrhaging, he'd be in far too much pain and shock to even think about what just happened to him. Night night for the bad guys. <English>

"There done." Abbey offers over the comm unit once sheis certain the second man is down four the count. She will lift her scope slightly to check the area out once more to see if anyone else has wandered into the area. <English>

It's quiet out there, nothing but the sounds of the night and that damn wolf or wolves out and about looking for a meal or to mate. Kyoshiro's voice comes in a moment later, "Wow, that was quick... alright. you're clear to head back if you want or meet us at the place we diverted." <English>

Abbey smirks as she hears Kyo. "I have my skills." Is offered with an amused tone before she is slowly moving, rifle in hand as she makes her way down the hill and to the point in question. <English>

McGuire is a walking grease ball from head to toe. Hair matted in oil and grease, overalls black down to his boots. Hands bloody and black in grease and oil. Eye's exhausted from the many days of getting this ship working again. The hole in the side of the ship was patched after the engine was taken apart and brought into the ship to be installed. Once back together, Fao set out on the task to hook up the systems needed for flight and space travel. The processes pace was picked up when the girls who know such things assist in the installation. Fao double checks all the work and give his a-okay when finished. The last of the systems where the hardest, adapting the outputs to the modified inputs. He stands looking at the work and finaly says, "Done. She'll fly." He turns to Octavia and gives her a full body hug, "I need a shower. Is the hunting party back yet?" His voice is tired and slow. His brain no longer having to work on repairs, starts to shut down bit by bit. His eye's lull downward and snap open again. He's got to get cleaned up before allowing himself to crash completely. <English>

Though it's not really been the sort of repair that Octavia could help with, she's peeked in a few times along the course of it. Sometimes to bring snacks or drinks for them, sometimes with a blanket to wrap around one of girls who fell asleep amidst the process, and sometimes just to check in on the progress. When Fao appears from out of the engine room, she looks up from the blob of dough on the counter that she had been kneading. Then she lifts a hand to idly brush a bit of hair from her face, turning her back to the counter as she does. And with the announcement of it being finished, she slips her arms around him and hugs him to her, not caring if she gets dirty in the process. "Good. Now maybe you'll be able to be talked into getting some sleep, and eating something more than just a snagged bite before getting right back to it," she comments, a smile touching at the corners of her lips. "And a shower, yes," she adds, giving a wry sort of chuckle. "I don't know if they're back yet, to be honest. I've not seen them return, as of yet." <English>

McGuire's nods is slow and he redirects his thoughts to his missing crew. "I'll get cleaned up and get with the security officer on guard to gather a search and rescue party just in case." How he's able to speak, let alone think up this idea is a testament to his drive to do what is right. Giving her another hug, leaning on her for a brief moment in the hug, he lets go and moves to his quarters to get cleaned up. His steps shuffle him to the starboard hall, barely able to lift over the airlock lip on the entrance. A hand to the wall of the hall to support his forward motion towards his room. <English>

McGuire gets to his cabin and peels off the grim covered overalls. His own skin almost as black as the clothes. The new systems have kicked in and the warm water has full pressure to it. He's done engine work before and has the right soap to remove all the grease and oil. He stands in the water a long moment before forcing himself to use the soap. His muscles ache, but he makes his body move to clean himself up. The steam from the hot water blankets the room in the white fog. He doesn't even know that he is humming to himself out loud. That child's rhyme of Mares Eat Oats chimes out over the running water as he removes all the grease and oil. <English>

McGuire slowly shuts the water off, dripping and soaked, but clean. Shuffling over to the bed, he leans forward for the towel and falls onto the bed. Out to the world around him, gone to the sandman's call. Motionless, snoring, drying as he sleeps. He couldn't even grab the towel, laying on it instead. The steams slowly dissipates to show his sleeping form on the bed, naked and still soaked. Who knows how long this will last, but at the moment he is in grips of needed sleep. <English>

The word of Abbey's success came through loud and clear. Kyoshiro had positioned himself in a thicket within the flat yet dense forest. It was almost pitch black because of the thick canopy but his eye patch helped him with that. He didn't quite know where Willow was, only that he knew she was around and positioned to cut off any escape of the pair of Legionaires headed towards them, ignorant to the deaths of their comrades a few miles to the east. The wind blew softly, and the soft pitter-patter of rain starting to fall echoed through the forest soon to drown out the sounds of nocturnal life and that of the Legionaires headed towards them... which may present somewhat of a problem. <English>

The two Legionaires makes their way through the woods together, completely unawares. The old warhorse waits patiently, suppressor screwed onto Junior. He waits, and waits until they are so close they have no idea he's mere metes away. Pop, pop... sounds. It's still loud but not nearly as much as it would be if the suppressor wasn't there. The two Legionaires drop dead, both shot through their heads with large .585 APC rounds. They didn't feel a thing. "Let's go..." Kyo says over the comm. <English>

As Fao organizes a search party, Abbey is heading back to camp, and the same goes for Willow and Kyo. Back at Spencer's survivalist compound the metal steel wall as been breached. The bodies of his mercenaries lay everywhere brutally slain in combat. His mansion on fire. In the barn where Kyo and Abbey had acquired the engine for the Jia hangs Spencer by his feet. Torturing him is a hooded figure, a Disciple of Legion... "Now... Spencer... you will tell me where the Jia is and then you will know peace..." <English>
