Amber would be played by Olivia Burnette or Eva Mendes - but only 5'3 and with dark auburn hair.

Jobs & Employment: the many ways of earning a living

In her haphazard upbringing, Amber has held employment (usually unpaid) in an unreasonable number of jobs. Most have lasted only a week or two. Virtually all of these do not require 'job skills' as such. A vast majority are ones she was 'hired out' by the orphanage to do as a kid.

For amusement, this is a partial list of things she's spent a week or more doing at one time or another.

... Baking ... Berry & Fruit Picker ... Bookbinder ... Calf Feeder ... Chicken slaughterer ... Circus Cleaner ... Ditcher ... Egg Collector ... Farmhand ... Fencing Hand ... Farriers assistant ... Fruit Preserving ... General Cook's Assistant ... Grape harvester ... Hide Trimmer & Salter ... Kitchen Hand ... Laundry Worker ... Market Garden Hand ... Mechanics Trainee ... Mill Hand ... Mushroom Drying ... Orchard Hand ... Postal Delivery ... Pruner ... Potter's Assistant ... Printer's Hand ... Rabbit Skinner ... Rope Maker ... Scrap Metal Sorter ... Sales Assistant ... Shoemaker ... Sideshow assistant ... Slaughterhouse Trimmer ... Smokehouse Loader ... Stable Hand ... Tent Maker ... Tinker's Assistant ...

Many of these categories cover a number of other skills. For example, 'farm hand' would include tasks varying from pushing hay off the back of the MULE to feed steers, heating irons to de-bud calves, hold piglets for castration, sharpen scythes, mix pollard for ducklings being fattened, milk a house cow, bucket-feed orphan lambs, grease gates, help clean and prepare fruit for preserving/drying, feed the dogs, gentle the yearlings before they're broken to ride, make sure the well pump is fuelled . . . and yes, it is possible for a country kid to do these, and more, over a few years for experience.
