Log_Characters::Sink and Ansiel

Ansiel meets Sink, they go over the things that need to be done to the Vigilance to make it into the Outlaw Star. They cover quite a few topics before finally coming to an agreement and parting ways until the work is completed. (IC week)

A fresh summer breeze blows in through the open skylights of the large hangar that is the Steel Dragon Shipyard. One of the work crews busies itself on a large engine of unique design, arguing about the holographic blueprints and the orientation of a heat shroud. High above a lone security guard leans back on the back two legs of his chair, his rifle held loosely against him. The door leading to the long road to the main space port opens and a dusty figure enters. Leaning on his cane Sink carries a small duffel bag in one gloved hand. He takes off his brown stetson and waves it at the guard then the crew, both of which look up and wave back, before returning to their task. Sink pauses a moment when he sees a second Shark parked. He looks it over, and nods before walking towards the office, his cane clicking as he goes.

[AE] Oh fresh summer breeze indeed! Ansiel is enjoying the walk back to the ship in this good weather, which just happens to be in the Steel Dragon Shipyard and could possibly have been aforementioned. She trots along with an apple in tow, taking a bite every now and then as she makes the approach through those doors leading back out to the main spaceport. Hmm, a guard huh? She stops to check him out mid-chew before she keeps walking, noticing a figure with a duffel bag making their way towards the SDS office. Maybe this is the guy that Chovian told her about. Sinclair. She mosies a bit faster to try and catch up a bit and doesn't shout but calls out just loud enough to get his attention through that British accent. "Oy! Sinclair?" The apple is tossed over her shoulder into a trashcan as she gets closer.

The guard up on the catwalks notices Ansiel's entrance, and doesn't budge from his relaxed lean, but instead just causally reaches for his shoulder mic and speaks a few words, and then returns to his game of watching the paint dry (there is always something drying in the shipyard, ever can one say they are completely bored). Sink, alas, as yet to turn on his SDS security gear, and jumps a bit as a name is called. A much longer version then he is used to. After a beat he turns to the voice and smile, "Hello? How can I help you?", he asks.

[AE] The moments and meanderings of the catwalk guard go unnoticed as Ansiel comes to a halt behind the gentleman that turns to face her. "Hey! I'm the owner of that Shark." She thumbs over her shoulder back to the one he perhaps noticed during his walk through. "I was told you are the guy to talk to about getting some work done." She grins back at the man and shifts weight to one leg and places a hand on her hip, a head tilt follow suit as well. "One of my crew has had dealings with you before. Chovian." She just assumes at this point that his name is Sinclair since that's how she was told about him etc.

Sink follows Ansiel's thumb towards the shark, and he takes another long look at it before he looks back to Ansiel. His left eyebrow goes up, "Chovian is one of your crew? That's a bit of a twist. I always thought he was the type to be owner. How's the prince doing?" Sink then nods, "We can fix most anything, and Sharks are our specialty. The guys have a good deal of experience fixing and spit shining the Dragon, so there ain't nothing they haven't seen on one. Just as long as you aren't asking for a hot tub install. We did one, and one is enough."

[AE] Ansiel beams pretty brightly at the statement that Sharks are the specialty. Boy does she have some work for them! "Right? That's the best news I've heard all month!" And then about Cho. "Oh Chovian? He's good! My chief engineer. He still has his own ship but decided to come along with the crew and I for a while. Change things up perhaps. Plus it seems a lot of his crew moved on. Gets lonely yeah?" She nods in affirmation before continuing. "Well I would be honored to give you something to do right? Boring spit shinin' an all innit. So basically it's going to be an exterior overhaul and a re-kryssning. And. Depending on the cost, perhaps some other things." She hands over a pda that as a full work up of the new designs etc in it which she designed and Cho modified with his plethora of engineering knowledge.

Sink takes the PDA and looks it over as he talks, "Aye, I know not everything last forever. My own days of burning a hole in the black with a belly full of goods headed for the rim may be over... maybe not. Folks are living longer and longer, so who knows." He gives her a smile, before looking down at the PDA again. "So just the outside, and new flight designation. Shouldn't be too hard, unless you want something fancy like a crono-skimming coating. That will cost you a shiny penny, but we can handle just about anything. What is your timeline?"

[AE] "I can leave her here for as long as you need. I wouldn't want to rush your work sir." Ansiel recants as to the timeline. "I mean, it's a pretty major overhaul to the exterior as it is. But I guess It couldn't hurt to ask you about some other things. Like perhaps a modification to the shuttle bay. Right now it can only hold Amelia's Hummingbird. I was wondering if there was a way to carve out a little extra space for another LRS to fit in there." She taps at her chin thoughtfully for a few moments, "Also was wondering if there would be a way to increase the engine output by another . I doubt it but perhaps the new modifications would help a tad." She gives a shrug but holds a contented smile to the man, glad she had the chance to just get it all out so that there is nothing left to speculation for the time being.

Sink takes out his own PDA and transfers the docs over and presents Ansiel the original, "Well it wouldn't be too bad if we weren't moving the thrusters that needs some reinforcement, but it's totally doable. It's not the parts but the labor, welding and such. If we don't include a reprogramming of the flight computers, I'll have to say 10,000 credits to get all that done, and probably a week. It'll be unique, that's for sure."

[AE] Ansiel nods, "Might as well reprogram the flight computers and all that. No sense in leaving that out. I say that without the reprogram that is a very fair price though. So what would you charge if we add that in?" She head tilts and reshuffles her weight around, "God this feels good ya know? Maybe a bit off topic but damn. I've been waiting to do this for so long. You have no idea how much I appreciate your business here Sinclair. You have my admiration for your trade work." It's true. The girl has always been a sucker for a sleek design and the brain that gets it there. She loves everything about ships.

Sink straightens up an presses down with his hand on his cane as he thinks, "Well, aerodynamics of this sort isn't what we usually do. We do the minor stuff, like 'it's going faster now' recalculations, but when you modify the shape and the angle of the thrusters, that's a bit beyond the skill set I have on staff, but have the software and the computer clusters, so I just need to contract out an expert... 2000 more should cover it." Sink then pauses, and smiles, "I'm sorry I never did get you name."

[AE] Ansiel nods along with him and then 'oohhs', "You are quite right, where are my manners!" She extends a hand to the gent, "Ansiel E. Ezikla. I pleasure to make your acquaintance Mr. Sinclair." She doesn't know if that is his first name or last. She presents a wide smile. "2000 it is then. I think it will be well worth the extra effort." She looks over at her ship a bit like a kid with stars in her eyes. "It will be well worth it." She reiterates to herself before cutting her gaze back to him. She places her hands behind her back and waits as though she is in parade rest, keeping that lingering smile for the man.

Sink removes his glove, takes Ansiel's hand and gives it a firm shake, "It's good to meet you Miss Ezikla." He then chuckles and shakes his head, "It's Sinklar Fist, but most people are informal and just call me by Sink, or some Sinklar. I don't mind either." Sink's gaze goes to the other ship, "And the name change? What name will the new design have?"

[AE] Ansiel nods as he educates her as to his name. "Ahh I'm sorry about that Mr. Fist. Yeah, ya know what? I'll just call you Sinklar still if that's okay with you." She is sure to enunciate the name properly this time whereas she had been giving it a bit of a tear. When he asks what the new name with be she just grins and the silks out, "Outlaw Star." Giving another look to it and back to him.

Sink turns his head back and forth as he looks at the ship and smiles, "That is a fine name. I like it. I hope it has a good story behind it, even if that story is a new beginning, that in itself is a good story." He then blinks and pulls out his PDA and looks at the design quickly, "Sorry I totally missed that you were adding weapon mounts. We also can supply weapons, that is if you have an Alliance ISAC-LIC-1-DC3 form, or you have a fancy Interpol badge."

[AE] Ansiel smiles, "Thanks. I think it will fit the new Corvette perfectly. And yeah, and ending for a new beginning. I like the way you think. A good story, yeah? I love it." She then bites at her lips as he has noticed those extra design features. "Yeah I figure it would be necessary if I keep bringing the ship into Legion encounters." She cuts her gaze out into the void and ahems. "As far as that badge though... I might have misplaced it."

Sink takes in a breath and lets it out slowly, "Legion.", he says simply. He starts to grind his cane into the concrete floor as he considers then he nods, "Well, if you promise that you show me your badge some time before I die, I think I can fill those weapon mounts. What were you thinking a couple of missile racks? Or were you thinking of a fifty cal? I hear a wall of lead changes a mind... inside out. Maybe a fate too good for them?"

[AE] Ansiel takes a breath of what feels like fresh air as it seems the man before her bears absolutely no love for the slime that is Legion. "Thank you. I'm sure I'll find it eventually." She smiles. "Let's go with 2 missile racks, one under each wing and a kinetic cannon to the fore." A tall order she knows. Very heavy stuff, but she figures when it comes to Legion, speak softly and carry a big stick. Which she is inclined to do. No sense in letting them off the hook by any means. "Hopefully that is within your expertise. It's just we keep having problems with weaponry that isn't taking out their ships. They just touch down at one of their holds and patch it up. We need something that will take that bird right out of the air and make sure she isn't getting back up."

Sink nods slowly, "Well the biggest thing I have is a 100 pound missile. If that doesn't cut it, not sure what else will. But I can install what you need. just keep it under wraps until you leave planet for the first time. Just in case someone is watching my little shop." He then flicks through his inventory, "Well 2 racks and a LKC would usually go for about 20,000 credits, but this is... a good cause so I can get you them for 15,000. How are you for missiles? I have everything from 10 to 100 pound missiles."

[AE] Ansiel thinks the question over thoughtfully before answering, which is basically a list of different missiles etc that she feels like she needs to be fully prepared and all that. "So yeah. I think that should pretty much sum it all up. I think she will be ready the next time Legion comes calling, and I /hope/ they do. After Verbena.. My god.. and Greenleaf. They've got to be stopped." She actually gets a bit stern for a change.

Sink listens and takes the order, and hands Ansiel a bit of paper with a final number, "Well, they will be stopped. I've been working with the Romany on this front, and I've just returned before heading to check out a lead on Osiris. Maybe with everyone pulling at these threads, well, there won't be a shirt left to hold the scarecrow together, eh?" Sink glances at his PDA again, "I'll get the crews started on this right away. The Outlaw is in good hands."

[AE] Ansiel nods along as he speaks about having some involvement with the Romany. "Interesting. Churara perhaps? Seems we share the same circle and never even knew it." She can state some things quite bluntly, but still there is another nod in affirmation and that hand extended out to firmly shake his hand again to seal the deal. "I have absolutely no doubt about that." She starts to bring out her transfer chit. "So do you want that now or later?"

Sink takes her hand with one of his and shakes it but his other hand raises up shaking it back and forth, "No need to pay me now, only after the work is done." After the handshake is over he nods, "The Churara right. And don't be too concerned about not have run into me. I've only joined the fight recently. With the problems between the Rom and the Alliance, I have not seen the Family in person in a long time and I had no idea the Churara were in so deep against Legion, or else I would have braved some blockades and been there much sooner."

[AE] Ansiel slow nods to him after the handshake. "Alright, just let me know what you need afterwards." She listens to what he has to say about it and smiles. "Ahh I see. Well that's good to know. After joining the fight and all that. We need good people on our side, no doubt about that. If you ever need anything though, feel free to give me a call." She hands the man her +wave address as he is going to need it anyhow, but she figures maybe he would like to be in on some action or vice versa. "Well I'll leave you to it then. I need to make a few calls anyhow."

Sink places one hand over his heart and gives Ansiel a little bow, after the exchange of addresses, "We will start right away. Feel free to enter and exit the yard as you wish, just try not to bring trouble. Cliff isn't a bad shot, when he's paying attention." There is a little wave and Sink picks up his duffel bag, and proceeds to head to the office.
