Taking advantage of the common area's seeming emptiness, Sanoh is trying with confusion to work the hydroponics machine. Hearing the sound of footsteps entering, Sanoh freezes. She doesn't even turn around. <English>
McGuire steps out of the Starboard hall into the commons. He is freshly showered clean and fully dressed for the day. He makes his way to the coffee percolator and starts a new pot. He can't help but notice the woman at the end of the counter trying to get some veggies out of it. He tilts his head, "New here, what's your name?" He finishes the fixing for the pot and starts the coffee, looking at the little woman. <English>
Sanoh turns slowly to look at McGuire, trying to gauge if he's being facetious or not. She eventually decides to take his question as genuine, and with a nervous stutter she replies. "Th-that's right. I'm a new crew member. Uh, Sanoh Nk." She nods to him with a buck-toothed smile and eyes that looks anywhere but at him. "Nice to meet you, sir." <English>
McGuire turns to an upward cabinet and opens it to pull out a mug. Setting the mug on the counter, "Sanoh Nk huh? Pleased to meet you Sanoh. I'm Crewman McGuire. Mister do it all around here. Call me McGuire or McG if you must. So what do you do on this ship Sanoh Nk?" He judges the post of coffee as it brews and waits for it to get full enough to pour a cup. His attention seems to be more on the coffee than the new crew member. <English>
Sanoh fidgets with the hem of her shirt, trying to think. "I'm, um. I'm medical. A nurse." She winces a little bit when McGuire's head is turned. <English>
Kyoshiro coms walking in then, reading something on his Datapad. He's armed as always, making his way towards the Kitchenette. He had heard voices so looks up with that one crimson eye of his to see Fao... and then Sanoh. He pauses, his cold gaze upon the pregnant woman. A single eyesbrow raises but he dosn't speak or say anything, just looks to Fao. <English>
Sanoh 's eyes go wide and her jaw slackens when Kyoshiro enters. She stares at him dumbly. <English>
McGuire pours his cup and returns the pot to finish brewing. Stepping back from the counter, he gets his first full look at the woman in question. The mug starts for the lips to take a sip, but stops as he notices her condition with child and is speachless for a moment. He takes that sip, his eye's still upon the woman, and says in his even tone, "So the Cap'n finaly get a Medical crew aboard. We ain't had much luck keeping doctors or the like on the Jia. Can't figure out why, concidering we give em work more than most outfits we talk to. Always a bandage here, a stitch there to be done with this lot. And we keep the medbay fully stocked with the top of the line equipment. Yet, they don't seem to stay long." He turns to Kyo as he enters, "Mibu, this is Sanoh, a nurse. I guess Lines hired her from our last landing. You'd of thought he'd of mentioned it to us." He takes another sip from his mug, realizing he can't smoke again in the ship with a pregnaunt lady around. He sighs slightly. <English>
Sanoh is stiff and silent, eyes shifting between the two men. <English>
"Oh I met her already... So did Zank but. I don't remember anything about her being a nurse or him hiring her as such. She was inquiring about looking for her missing husband. I seem to remeber she had a todler." Kyoshiro says to Fao as he moves into the kitchenette further. "Then again, I did leave for a confereance call before their conversation ended." HE shrugs, "Here is you son?" He asks Sunoh? <English>
McGuire looks from Kyo to Sanoh. "A toddler huh?" He motions low at her and says, "And one on the way." Looking her in the eye's, "What's this about a missing husband? Where in the 'verse did you lose this man?" He's quite confused, but trying to keep calm to help figure it all out. <English>
"She's...she's in o-our cabin." Sanoh says with her head down, rubbing irritably at one of her ear lobes. She looks down at the hydroponics machine with a little huff and asks, "How do you get this thing to work?" She looks up at McGuire, a little caught off guard by his question, and she seems hesitant to answer. Instead she addresses Kyoshiro. "I told you his name - I didn't tell you he was my husband." <English>
"It was a good guess." Kyoshiro says with a shrug, "Which room were you assigned?" He asks as he rummages through the cabinates. <English>
McGuire steps over to the hydroponics wheel and touches the directional control that slowly spins the wheel to the desired food stuff wanted. The hatch to get inside it has a simple latch he opens on the side. "There you go." He steps back from it to let her have access to it and walks to Kyo's side. "Lines say anything about this to you?" He askes of Kyo. <English>
"Nope..." Kyoshiro says to Fao simply. <English>
McGuire turns to Sanoh and says, "Me neither. Not like him to do that." He motions to her and says, "Tell us your story ma'am." He walks over to the large table and takes a chair so he can lean on the table with his mug. He pulls out a small pouch and from it starts to roll a cigarette. <English>
Sanoh 's begrudging silence confirms Kyoshiro's guess was right. "...Cabin 4," she mutters in answer, then smiles uncomfortable thanks to McGuire as he starts the machine running. She purses her lips and folds her arms over her belly, watching the thing anxiously. She sighs quietly through her teeth as McGuire probes her, eyebrows furrowed. "As you've surmised, my husband went missing." She pauses a moment, hesitant to say more. "He was kidnapped." <English>
McGuire looks at Kyo, then back to Sanoh. "Kidnapped would indicate ransume. Who took him? Do you know why?" He is quick with his rolling and the cigarette is done. He places it between his lips and out of habit, lites it. <English>
Sanoh lowers her eyes sadly, still facing the working cryogenics machine. "I don't expect a ransom, and I have no idea why he was taken." She bites her lip and an eyebrow quivers, but still she holds back. <English>
McGuire looks confused, "That means he was taken and not kidnapped. Perhaps slavers, perhaps money owed. If you don't know, we can't help you get him back. Unless..." he studies her a bit more, "You don't want him back." McG doesn't understand the situration, let alone how she got hired without him knowing about it. SUDDENLY the lights flicker and the main conputer reboots. "What the..." McG rises and turns to the engine room to start towards it. "Who's in there!?!" He yells out with a rather upset tone. <English>
Sanoh whips around with a rush of emotion, and with the sudden disturbance from the engine and the flush on her determined face, her conviction is palpable. "Don't want him back? How could you say such a thing? He's my husband, I love him! I sacrificed everything to come out here and find him." Her eyes are glassy with tears, and she seems so enfuriated and frustrated and tired she hardly notices there's something wrong. <English>
McGuire pulls his gun as he enters the engine room. "Computers don't reboot themselves unless someone is messing with them. Come out here and show yourself, you've got no where to go." He blocks the entery way to the engine room, his wide body and gun in hand. He doesn't respond to the woman in the commons about her husband, because he knows a diversion when he sees it and someone is in the engine room pressing buttons and shouldn't be. "Come out come out whoever you are. Do it now, or I will shoot if I have to go in there." <English>
Sanoh is completely alarmed by the sudden show of weapons. Her emotional outburst being genuine, it takes a little while for her to put her head back on. Trying to keep her tone even, she shouts, "...Nim? Is that you, baby?" <Chinese>
"Mama...!" A child's frightened sobbing is heard from the other side of the door. <Chinese>
McGuire narrows his eye's, "We don't allow children to wander unattended Sanoh. If that was you daughter, you best get her before she gets hurt." He sounds serious, and with the sound of the childs responce, he holsters his weapon and steps aside to let the mother gather her child. "Cabin four. Port hall. I suggest you go there and wait while I figure out what happened in the engine room. You wander any place else, and you may not have a job with this ship any more." <English>
"I told her to stay in the cabin, I swear!" Sanoh says, pleadingly as she goes inside to retrieve the little girl and comes back out holding a three-year-old with short black hair and a dress made in a similar style to Sanoh's clothes. "I swear, this won't happen again." Her expression is perhaps a little more desperate than the apparent situation would merit. <English>
