| The Mossberg 500 is tubular magazine feed, manually operated (pump action) smoothbore gun. The bolt carrier is operated via two action bars, chamber locking is achieved via tilting breechblock (bolt) into the barrel extension. The safety is located at the tang of the receiver and is fully ambidextrous. The receiver is made from aluminium alloy while the buttstock and pump are made of black composite to compliment the matte black anodized finish of the weapon. | |
