Mauser C-96
Availability: Common
The Mauser C-96 is one of the most distinguishable semi-auto pistols in the history of Earth-That-Was, as well as one of the first practical designs in its class. The final design appeared early in 1895 patented by Paul Mauser, with production beginning in 1896. It had been offered for the German military but was never adopted, however the C-96 had a long and sucessfull history on the civilian market, offered as a pistol-carbine. It outperformed in effective range most of contemorary pistols and revolvers and was especially popular with travelers and hunters in the areas where big animals are rare or absent at all. This model has been constructed of updated materials incorporating an anodized black steel frame, with a hard rubberized grip replacing the original wood. This weapon is a replica of the Red 9 which featured a removable twenty round ammunition box for simpler reloading, and was rechambered to fire 9mm ammunition.
