Indigo was born on the freelance transport Dissonance. Her parents Hudson and Rose were crewmen aboard the Dissonance. At a very young age, Indigo began to have a fascination with star ships. She would read specification manuals and tour the ship regularly to fuel her interest. Her tours were ended abruptly due to her young age. However, she was hard to stop, she would disable the locking mechanism on the doorway. Unlocking the door required very quick reflexes, if she failed to pull the pin quickly, it would result on a clamp smashing her hand. She learned how to react very quickly so her hands would not be smashed.  When she turned thirteen, the captain of the dissonance allowed Indigo to begin job shadowing the crew. She learned the inner workings of engineering from her father and piloting from her mother. Indigo advanced steadily until she turned seventeen. Around that time Indigo had a personality change. She became moody and stubborn. The crew would have to constantly debate her if she disagreed with anything that related to the ship. Eventually, the captain released her from duty and forced her to leave the ship on Persephone. On Persephone, she found a local engineer to take her in. She studied with the engineer to advance in her trade. She wanted to get back to the stars. He taught her how to fly and fix just about every ship in the system. She learned how to play the trumpet and worked as a musician in a local pub to pay off her debt to the engineer for her education. After ten years of living with the engineer, the engineer died suddenly. She was forced to the streets, and forced to find another route to get back to the stars.
