Introduction

The verse is a very very big place. With many many people and planets and...secrets and mysteries. You had the Unification attempt, the war that followed. You had the folks out there on the rim with their ghost stories and Reaver attacks...and then the exposure of the Reavers having actually been created by the Alliance that followed. You've had Pirates and Gypsies, Soldiers and Thieves...nuked planets and aerial attacks and bars with beer and folks smoking weed. Mini-Adventures and Crew Bonding Traumas...planet wide epidemics where everybody gets horny, hungry and happy and gigantic bugs manufactured by a weird company. And do not forget the naked nuns. NOW you have a mysterious cult of religious fanatics referred to as 'Reaverites' by many who are just starting to emerge from lying in wait for God knows who long. They are among you, ordinary joes, regular janes...people folks never thought or knew to be funny, weird or religious now volunteering to give their lives, take the lives of others and work to liberate the verse and make it 'pure'. They worship the pure lives of no feeling, no regret, no censorship and no limitations in how the Reavers live and believe that how they live and exist is the next step in human evolution...in their own words: The way is paved by blood...each drop of blood is a foot closer to our destiny. You must fall until you're kissed by the earth, then you must surrender to the darkness until you cannot taste life. Tears will wash your feet as you trod towards the sunset, the salt will crust by the time you reach oblivion and the air will embrace you on all sides. Press forward still, trembling as the fire burns within then...when all hope is lost, your eyes will open and you'll behold...the brightest sunrise you'll ever know. Walk towards this light, and you'll know true darkness.

That said, this plot launched a series of major attacks on several planets: Whitefall, Haven, Persephone, Ariel, St Albans...and as time goes by, many more will be. Rim planets are the most vulnerable. On most planets this it he procedure: Reaverites (the humans who want to be Reavers and worship them for lack of a better descriptions) land on a planet, kill up people but really focus on taking prisoners who they tie to posts in a sacrificial like way and usually a day or so later, Reavers then attack. Whitefall was first, then Haven and...there's rumors of it happening further into the Rim. It also happens to drifting ships, that usually generate distress calls. When boarded, there are the crew members either dead or tied to posts like a sacrifice (living) and then a couple of days later, the Reavers attack the ships. So its very dangerous on the rim and there's rumors that the attacks are getting closer to the border planets...so there's a looming threat.

These days, they are pressing further towards the core...sending in suicide attackers to draw attention or cause panic and chaos and mass death in public areas. They call it...making sacrifices and that those who are killed were unworthy or unpure but...for a cult that's big on taking over the verse...they sure are willing to sacrifice ALOT of their members. It makes a person wonder...how many are there exactly and...who is really calling the shots?

Current Planet Statuses

On White Fall

Current Status: Attacks started here, there was a huge attack and an attempted forced invasion of Reaverites followed by a few actual Reaver ships. Due to actions from independent and alliance ships, crews, and defenses the Reaverite/Reaver attacks were held at bay. There are Reaverite attacks on a regular basis, citizens aren't safe however there's a defense shield of sorts around their Spaceport that doesn't always keep ALL attacks away but it creates a quick sensor/defense network that delays attacks, keeps Reaverites/Reavers from getting approved landing and it has helped the citizens of that moon stay on their toes and safe.

RP Hooks: People there are always in need of weapons, medical care, and assistance as it is a hot zone planet. Want to GM or RP a quick skirmish or rescue op or defense or etc...just @mail or page me if you have questions about the Reaverite stats and know, they are JUST people, not advanced or super, just well trained fighters and people who might wear crazy things but they are not Reavers /yet/ just want to be. To have a special scene ran or want something interesting to do on that planet @mail or page Dobson.

On Haven

Current Status: This was the second major planet to be attacked...and there are Reaverite attacks there as well. However, at this time it is the locals who attack/are hostile more than the Reaverite forces. There are mercs and guns for hire and the locals who want to protect their planet and believe the best way to do so would be to give the Reaverites WHO they want. Ships that are docked here, may have to fight off the 1-3 man groups who are trying to get them a bounty or...actually have to fight WITH the people trying to get them AGAINST actual Reavers or Reaverites. There's a secret underground base here with medical records and weird odd medical experiment creatures down an abandoned mineshaft and the information gathered from that base can be pulled out of Aubrey Everson (@mail or page him for details) seeing as he crashed and wiped their systems after he was finished to cut the power to the generators down there.

On Ariel

Current Status: There was a massive explosion at the Ariel School of Medicine...a total of 70 were confirmed dead, and the number of injured individuals were up there as well. It was a routine fire drill that was scheduled, but the doors locked down in an emergency quarantine as the students began to exit their dormitories and classrooms and there were 5 percussion bomb like explosions that took place, 2 in the female dorms and 2 in the males and 1 in the auditorium where students were gathered for a seminar. At this time, there is no information about the source of the explosions but 4 security guards were found hanging from the ceiling by their ankles, in a public rest room with their hearts ripped out.

RP Hooks: People are rebuilding damaged areas of the school, tending to patients at the hospital, and working with higher security than normal. Its a planet in mourning and in constant fear of what might happen next. If you'd like to investigate things, stir up some trouble or anything...@mail or page Dobson.

On Persephone

Current Status: There was a fatal armed robbery on Persephone, where a group of seemingly normal individuals entered the Cargo Office and then proceeded to lock down the entire building after donning gas masks. Law officials arrived on the scene and a hostage negotiator was brought on to the scene. Attempts to negotiate failed, and absolutely no responses were given. WHen rescue teams forced their way into the building...there were signs of a fire fight but the air was filled with a sleeping gas of sorts. Building is being decontaminated at this time...there don't seem to be survivors. All hostages were found slaughtered, cause of death seems to have been knife slit throats. 23 confirmed dead. Four masked individuals were found as well, with their own throats slit as well. The Cargo Office as shut down for a week during an investigative report by the Alliance before being opened back up and security has been increased.

Then there was a second attack on Persephone about 2-3 weeks later, where a large unmarked and unregistered vessel managed to slip past port control to hover above the Spaceport. It released a toxic orange gas that left those belong in the Spaceport hallucinating and panicking. Some believed it could've been that dreaded Cave Man disease, many people were killed...by masked men wearing gasmasks and wielding crude weapons to stab, bash, and impale their victims, remove their hearts and then killing themselves as well by removing their own hearts. The ship was brought down by Rodney Kilbride when he sabotaged whatever system being used to pump out the gas before setting an autopilot away from the spaceport and leaving before the autodestruct completed. Ship exploded, there has been structural damage and injuries caused by the crash...PENDING Alliance Investigation in the wreckage that's near but not directly on top of the Spaceport itself.

RP Hooks: Tensions are high on Persephone, people...are suspicious of their neighbors and people they've worked with for years, hospitals are teaming with not only physically injured people but the number of anti-depressants and anxiety medication has gone through the rough and the alliance and independent security firms are getting pretty good work as folks are trying to hunt and turn in folks and getting into fights and tussles. On St Albans

Current Status: After Rodney showed up on Haven after the 'bounty' was placed by the Reaverites Central Figures on all the captains of the ships who have 'interfered'. His actions were used as an excuse to trigger the attack: There was an avalanche on St Albans that has claimed the lives of a confirmed 30 individuals, while many many people remain missing. A natural disaster of this magnitude hasn't been seen on this planet for quite some time. Local specialist have said that it would take an explosion of some sort to set off the avalanche of this magnitude and while foul play is suspect officials will not confirm or deny that the 4 Alliance missiles were rigged and detonated at 4 separate key points on the mountain, and at each site of the explosion, it would appear that the remains of at least one human were found. The final death toll is still unknown, but likely to rise as people work to rescue, find, and provide medical care and assistance.

About a week after the attack on St Albans, a smuggler's compound was attacked and raided by a mysterious force, the owner of the compound and leader was a Yuri Bulvach, a black market dealer who was known for not being afraid to fence or sell Alliance tech or weapons. All leads pointed to him as being the only person on St Albans capable of selling the weapons that were used to cause the explosions that set off the Avalanches, even though if he truly knew who he was selling them to was doubtful but rumors say he paid dearly for his unintentional part in this whole thing. He was found in his compound, missing his tongue, eyes and fingers...stripped naked, tied to a post outside of his burnt down compound, mouth and anus stuffed with paper money and 'Their blood is on my hands' with the date of the attack under it tattooed over his forehead in purple and red ink. He was treated for hypothermia, shock and blood loss at a local Relief station.

On Paquin

Current Status: Military, Personal, and Other Resources have failed to communicate with the colonized moon of Shinbone, leaving the planet of Paquin and the Universe in a bit of a panic. There was a large explosion in the sky, followed by extreme weather conditions on the planet of Paquin as their only moon appears to be on fire, burning like a ball of orange and red fire. vessels nearing Paquin from space have been cautioned to stay far away from Paquin and its burning moon, as sensors don't seem to be able to pick up the Moon at this time and the gravitational/orbital fields around Paquin are off. There are already reports of shuttles and ships experiencing engine and system failures and challenges when veering too close to the planet, and those already close...have gotten sucked into orbit whether they intended to do so or not. Some shuttles have fallen/crashed into the oceans after their engines have failed. One thing is for certain, people know this 'rumored' Reaverite threat is moving further in towards the core and...nobody is safe. At this time, the only official report about the state of Shinbone is that it appears to be burning, all information gathered is Visual as seeing venturing too close to the moon, causes an EMP like shut down of systems that take up to 30 minutes to reboot. It is indeed...a Moon on Fire, the atmosphere...is on fire. Officials have yet to confirm this was the direct result of the promise or threat made by the cultist Terrorists being referred to as the Reaverites.

RP Hooks:

UHN (Universal Hope Network)

A certain individual has been collecting information from private and public networks all associated with the recordings of news posts, sensor readings, medical records and other such important waves and giving the frequency out to only a select few. It is a subwave channel, to avoid easy detection and hacking from outside sources and the signal can be shifted to different devices as need be. There's a special key necessary to access it directly, but there's an option in the program/file/system/network to post to the public cortex, but then it requires a new key to be generated as the encryption codes are reset. Its a new system/network but being used as a repository of information pertaining to the Reaverite threat.

Combat Statistical Data

Originally, it just seemed like religious/cultish zealots from every walk of life were combatants. Men and Women, usually physically fit, willingly sacrificing themselves and fighting with crude and ceremonial weaponry. The following video documentation shows how they utilized the strategy of overwhelming numbers as opposed to actual skill and weaponry in an effort to attack. However, as time as passed all Reaverite combatants seem to have either advanced combat capability or enhanced strength and dexterity making engaging these individuals hard to do without utilizing lethal force. Simply injuring a trained Reaverite 'soldier' does not appear to be crippling or disabling. Alliance Special Ops leveled Martial Arts, Krav Magra, and other rough yet efficient methods of self-defense and attack can been seen in the following video documentation of skirmishes that have taken place within the last 5 weeks. Melee Weapons, both bladed and blunt seem to be preferred but in many attacks an advanced knowledge of demolitions has been displayed. The average Reaverite combatant seem to be men between the ages of 18-45, while most female combatants seem to be over the age of 35, and well into their 40s. Another notable trait is, most younger females are used on the front line to infiltrate and deploy weapons and the like but it is a rarity. They also tend to leave more males as sacrifices tied to stakes, while capture females are rarely seen again. Please observe the following clip during a ship takeover, where a pregnant woman is shoved down a flight of stairs by a Reaverite...and then promptly after that, he appears to be rebuked and then has his head cut off by another Reaverite member...there is no audio, but appears that a few Reaverite combatants move to check on the well being of the pregnant female before the camera cuts off.

Technical Statistical Data

For a group of people who seem to be focused on a more primal and tribal way of existing, they have displayed and amazingly advanced level of technological and medical knowledge. The ability to take over universal Cortex bandwaves in a way that's easily traceable yet always transmitted by ships that are drifting and often destroyed. Signals can be traced, and have been but the ships generating the broadcasts ranged from decommissioned Alliance transports, cargo ships that have/had been reported as lost or destroyed and quite a few shuttles. Boarding these ships is inadvisable, but the coordinates to the last couple of broadcasts can be found here...beware of self-destruct sequences. They have also mastered the technique of jamming com frequencies, their code however is easy to overcome, but requires an update of your frequency every 15 seconds. They wear earcoms, implants that are actually imbedded into their ears and connected in a way that even dead or dying, their bodies themselves can be used to broadcast a message. Filed under, creepy and disgusting. A hightech medical research lab was found in an abandoned mine under the surface of Haven, and there were many disturbing files uncovered about experiments...the following video is the holographic recordings that were able to be pulled before the lab's systems and networks were crashed and destroyed. There were also many preserved corpses at the scene, and some were taken for autopsy.

With your help, we will find a better tomorrow in the light of a brighter day." Bright smile goes here. "Please remove your clothing, and step into the showers...after you've been decontaminated, take a deeeeep breath, and you will have received your first do-" Then the recording cuts off, blinks, hiccups, rewinds a bit and restarts. "An independent spirit is only enhanced by an independent mind. Unification is-" It cuts off once more and stutters.

"W-wwwwww-w-" Then after a moment, the same woman is sitting at a desk, wearing a pair of glasses and smiling. "Trials are going very well, inhibiting the access to guilt or regret has indeed improved the combat readiness of the volunteers. There are some concerns that creating militaristic sociopaths may be off putting to the general public but all my work is theoretical. Volunteer specimens will be disposed of after the trials are complete." Flickering image. Doctor is back, looking a tad pale and drawn as she looks around warily. "We must go, we must move...Tyrence has, well...Base Command, he was found dead. Tyrence would not murder-" Staticy sound. "Tyrence has decided the best move for now, would be to move our facilities elsewhere...it will be as though we never existed...unfortunately the procedure has led to sterility in most test subjects, but we were fortunate-this was to be our honey moon...." FLICKER FLICKER. "...Tests are being done. No chemicals are needed now, Tyrence says they are unclean...and that nature, time, and natural evolution will take place..." She looks frightened, smile strained. "There is no place for me here...Tyrence will come, I will be taken to the temple to be judged worthy or unworthy..." Then the hologram flickers out.
