| The Lee-Enfield Rifle was one of the most produced rifles on Earth That Was, with 17 million rifles coming off the production line in the 60 odd years of its service life. This particular variant is from the middle of its design life, being the Short, Magazine, Lee Enfield (SMLE or Smelly to its friends), featuring a shorter barrel at just over 25 inches, which chambered the .303 British round. The 10 round box magazine, situated just in front of the trigger guard, was filled using two 5 round charger clips inserted into the top of the rifle. The rifle is constructed of a simple wood, polished to show off the grain and look quite nice when not caked in the mud of the battlefield. A fine legacy of Empire. | |
