| This elegant piece of weapon smithery is a gentleman's weapon, a sword weighted and balanced for man to man combat on a field of honour, where debts of vengeance may be settled and satisfaction for insults may be gained. It has a blade slightly thicker than some rapiers, a cutting edge present rather than being purely a fencing weapon. Covering the handle is a very strong but ornate guard, usually depicting some design or crest of arms in relation to the owner. | |
