Bixby has reasons to be depressed, but somehow he almost never is. Life has dealt him and his family some raw deals, but he remains apart from it all. Much of this is the legacy of his parents, who never submitted when they lost everything. They carried on. Now Rog feels a certain lethargy to things, that wealth and possessions are treasured. There to be used when available, but not to be mourned when absent. This means he's often cheerful and carefree. He's no stranger to violence either, and while he isn't a champion for the underdog he has heart and determination in the protection of friends.
