Here is a short list of possible Archetypes, you might want to look into, it is by no means complete. You can play about anything you like, or mix the Archetypes as you like.

Pilot Pilots are the hearts and souls of the ships. Without a pilot, the ships would not have motion. All sorts of ships need pilots, including transports, bulk freighters, and shuttles.
Gunslinger These men and women are the Weapon Specialists in the 'Verse, from small arms, to full-automatic weapons, to close-combat weapons. If your character enjoys using weapons, then this is the way to go.
Merchant Merchant's are the traders, they own shops and sell everyday items as well as weapons, armor and other things like Alcohol. Most of them are organized into Guilds.
Tech Techs keep everything running, they travel on ships, and ensure that they are at working capacity at all times. They also work on docks to repair or upgrade ships, and tend to be skilled when working with technology.
Preacher Preachers often travel on ships or stay on planets, caring for the very souls of their flock.
Medic Medics are individuals who are knowledgeable in healthcare and medicine, taking care of the ships' crews, and customers. They are also responsible for the manufacture and implementation of prosthetics.
Bounty Hunter The main purpose of a bounty hunter is to track and capture fugitives. Bounty Hunters are organized into a guild; they are not only proficient with weapons, but also with gathering information and tracking down prey.
Street Urchin Maybe you're just dirt on the streets, someone shunned and avoided by others, one of the few hopeless who try to claw their way back up.
Criminals These men and women are the movers, and pawns, in the great organized crime syndicates. Be it crime lords, thugs, accountants or smugglers, these men are but a few examples of criminals.
Blue Sun These people work for Blue Sun, the largest company in the 'Verse, and are often rumored to be the most ruthless and effective mercenaries. The Blue Sun is said to have strong ties to the Alliance. Be it a Blue Sun security guard or accountant, these men are not to be trifled with.
Reader Readers are psychically-apt humans, they are extremely rare, and are able to read a person's thoughts, enabling them to not only sense danger, but also to know the next move of an enemy, and become living weapons if they are trained accordingly.
Companion See News:Companions Guild for information on these.
Alliance Members of the Alliance, these individuals are either the Military, or the Alliance workforce, and as such they represent the backbone of civilized society. Often seen as cruel and uncaring, the Alliance none-the-less is the ruling government in the 'Verse.

Bold topics denote a restricted concept, which requires an application in order to be played.
